COMICS: Intergalactic Adventure In First Look at THE LEGENDARY STAR-LORD #1

This July, Peter Quill flies solo for the very first time in The Legendary Star-Lord #1, the bombastic new series from writer Sam Humphries and artist Paco Medina spinning directly out of the pages of Guardians of the Galaxy and just in time for the highly anticipated summer blockbuster!

The notorious interstellar outlaw is striking out to swindle and swashbuckle his way across the galaxy in search of big adventures and even bigger scores. Expect a battle with the Badoon, a fight to save an orphanage, not to mention a little flirting with Kitty Pryde of the X-Men – and that’s just the FIRST ISSUE!

“This book is going to be Peter’s adventures untethered from the Guardians, where he gets to play a little more fast and loose in the cosmic playground, says series writer Sam Humphries. “He likes to fight. He likes to flirt. He flies by the seat of his pants. This book is almost more like a Space Western. It’s about heists and cons, bounty hunters, revenge and all that good stuff.”

“These are the high flying adventures of a space cowboy,” Humphries continues.

From the cold abyss of deep space to the seedy alien underworld, deadly forces await around every turn – and the Star-Lord stands alone. As the brazen outlaw prepares to strike out on a new journey, no fan can afford to miss the continuing adventures of the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy. An epic new adventure begins right here – if he lives that long! Hang on dear reader, as Sam Humphries & Paco Medina take you out of this world when THE LEGENDARY STAR-LORD #1 explodes onto comic shop shelves and digital devices this July!

God that mask is awesome. Bendis needs to bring it back and ditch the power rangers get up they're currently wearing.

This is his first on-going series, he did have a limited series in the late 90s. He had a mini-series too.

Agree with you 0mega that is the best incarnation. Way better than the original.

However I also loved his Mass Effect look.

Daaaang, Chris Pratt really made the character. Look how Star Lord looks now, more ego, more attitude. Which is good.

I like it. Looks pretty good. Although i do wish there where nod's to previous incarnations of Star-Lord's costume. I wonder if there will be reference's in the film, probably not.

Maybe Quill gets the blue and yellow suit in the Guardians sequel? That would be awesome.

Thank god DC doesn't needlessly change their comics to be like the movies. Marvel Comics are SO bad these days.

That artwork is great. I'm glad to see Star-Lord's movie costume in the comics. It's badass

Superman lost the red undies like in the movie. And that's the only character WB has put out recently, so I guess your comment was supposed to be ironic. Haha.

Wats funny is that the marvel now suit looks more like his original costume. I agree that the annihilation costume is the definitive version tho. I love the movie outfit tho and its cool to see them implementing them into the comic

All you learned is that whoever wrote Starlord's mother decided to make her an optimistic character.

At least the Shameless movie costume inclusion is for a good costume. I like Star Lord's look in the movie. I would rather he wore that NOW than the blue and yellow armor or those horrible generic mass effect outfits of the current NOW. I hope he wears the 2008 outfit in the movie sequel though. That would be the best!

Paco Medina needs to work on the anatomy proportions. His figures look like they're all about 3 ft. tall.
