@Chrome
People who are into comic book movies tend to be into comic books too. Hence, in order to make more money, the editors produce articles about comics as well.

I know this might get some heat but why is it still the year 2099 after all this time?

I believe what @Chrome was speaking about is why was this posted in the news section and not the comics section. I could be wrong, but I'm going to at least assume that is why he was asking.

The 'Comics' section just collates the comic-related articles from around the site. It's not like the Editorial or Features or whatever where the articles posted in there are exclusive to that section.

This was a looooong year for Miguel O'Hara. And 2099 hasn't turned over yet.

I've taken the 2099 thing to be more of an era thing than the specific year all these events take place. 2099 says this is the distant future. For sure, in the original run they specifically referenced that it was the year 2099. But it's just like how the Marvel universe, or The Simpsons or Family Guy is perpetually stuck in the same era where things change but they really don't. The fact that the title of the book has a specific year in it draws a lot of attention to something we tend to ignore in other comics. I mean how long has Franklin Richards been 5 years old in Fantastic Four? And in that time his sister grew from newborn to 4 years old while he remained 5.
