Why I Prefer MARVEL Over DC Comics.

This is my opinion why I like Marvel more than DC comics...ITS MY OPINION...

CHARACTERS: I like Marvel's characters more cause It's simple Marvel is men trying to be gods and DC is gods trying to be men. I always find Marvel characters more interesting than DC like good old horn head in Daredevil and many others including Punisher, Spider-man, Hulk, Thor, Ironman and Captain America when you compare them to DC there's no contest... Marvel heroes lean in good story telling.

GAMES: Well you might think what? Arkham games are the best. Look Marvel always had better games than DC through the years in gaming like 90s Spider-man games for the PS1 and the old 90s X-men games. The Marvel vs. camcom games are awesome too. In the early 2000s we had such great games as in Spider-man 1 and 2! Who can forget the Ultimate Spider-man game. We also had that great 2003 Hulk game. X-men legends 1 and 2 won game of the year. Hulk ultimate destruction, rise of the imperfects, Ultimate alliance 1 and 2, Spider-man shattered dimensions and Spider-man edge of time and that awesome Amazing Spider-man game. Plus the Deadpool game which was really good.

MOVIES: I like the Batman begins, Dark knight, 89 Batman, Superman 1, Superman 2, Watchmen and that's basically it. In the other hand you have Marvel with Blade 1 and 2, X-men 1 and 2 and first class, Spider-man 1 and 2 and the amazing Spider-man, Hulk 2003, Incredible Hulk, Iron man, Avengers, Captain America the first Avenger, Thor, Avengers. While Marvel had some stinkers like Ghost rider spirit of vengeance. The rest like Spider-man 3, Ghost rider etc were average in my opinion while DC had bombs like Batman and Robin, Catwoman, Superman 3, Steel, Jonah Hex, Green lantern... While I won't include Superman 4, Captain America 91 and Fantastic four 94 cause due to really low budgets.

COMICS: While DC have some remarkable runs like Death of Superman and return, Batman year one, Knight fall, kingdom come, The killing joke, Death in the family, Court of owls etc... BUT I find Marvel always consistent with there story telling like Daredevil always is a great book to pick and the X-men titles. The only book I find consistent in DC is the Bat books. Sales always been better for Marvel. They had awesome runs themselves like Walter Simonsons run on Thor and Peter's David run on Hulk. Daredevil with Frank Miller. Bendis run on Daredevil is AMAZING. Spider-man blue. Kraven's last hunt. 90s X-men. demon in the bottle etc. I always find Marvel more consistent issue by issue... Marvel NOW is killing DC 52 in sales right now and even in ratings.

Marvel has always been better to me because of the really human characters. I felt like I could totally relate to Spider-Man, who's just some normal guy struggling to earn money and get dates while also trying to be a good person and a hero. It's hard to relate to the invincible heroes of the DC Universe. The one thing that has really puzzled me is Batman, though. He seems more like a Marvel character than a DC one. And as a result, he's my favorite DC character and one of my favorites overall (but Spider-Man will always be Number 1).

I am a huge marvel fan, but something in that struck me as odd.

I like characters from both companies, however I feel more passion on the DC side...they really love these characters. Marvel is too cold, we have these characters, let's make money...it's a job. If it sales good, if not, kill it, they don't care about story telling or mythology, or history...Marvel DVDs don't include information about the comics, creators...I've seen Stan Lee more in DC videos than in Marvel's ...I know more about Geoff Jones, Jim Lee, Scott Snyder, Dennis O'neal...than Brian Michael Bendis or Dan Slott or Joe Quesada. Marvel doesn't care about the fans, specially Slott and Quesada, whom I despise.

I don't understand why people think opinions like these merit an entire article. Like...okay, so you like one company over the other. Big deal.

I disagree with the runs part. I respect that you like Marvel more, but your reason for the run thing seems a bit weak. You may not know about these runs, but they are fantastic.
Just to give you some good runs by DC (not trying to turn you or anything)

Grant Morrison's run on Animal Man
Scott Snyder's run on Detective comics
George Perez's run on Wonder Woman
Marv Wolfman's run on Titans
Geoff John's run on Green Lantern
James Robinson's run on Starman
John Byrne's run on Superman
EVERYTHING Chuck Dixon on the Bat-verse
Grant Morrison's run on Batman
Kevin Smith's run on Green Arrow
Denny O'Neil's run on Green LAntern/Green Arrow
Jack Kirby's run on New Gods
Grant Morrison's JLA
Geoff John's Aquaman
Peter David's Aquaman
Geoff John's Superman
Geoff John's JSA
Garth Ennis's Hellblazer
Geoff John's Teen Titans
Devin Grayson's Titans
Denny O'Neil's Question
Gail Simone's Birds of Prey
Gail Simone's Secret Six
Gail Simone's Batgirl
Denny O'Neil's Batman

I hope you enjoy these if you take a look!

You conveniently forgot to include TV/animation, where DC kicks marvel's ass. Sorry, but DC is better than marvel in everything except live-action movies.

It was stated best in an article I read decades past: Marvel tells Peter Parker, Reed Richards, Tony Stark, and Bruce Banner stories. The focus is the humanity not the super fight. The super fight is a large part of the greater story, yet you still want to know how Pete is paying his rent, if Aunt May survives, and if he can finish his latest school assignment.
We know Superman will always have Lois. Batman will always be obsessed and fomenting his sort of team.

That was a really GOOD line about Marvel being men trying to be something much bigger than that and vise versa for DC (Outside of Thor and Batman) very true. Maybe its just me, but always feel DC can come off a little melodramatic at times, or like they are lecturing me. If I did a list of my favorite heroes, I'll just make a list (in no order)
Flash (Wally)
Flash (Barry)
Superman
Green Lantern (Hal)
Green Lantern (John)
Wonder Woman (*coughcoughICONcoughcooough*)
Nightwing
Captain America
Daredevil
Spider-Man
Jason Todd as Robin
Batgirl (Babs)
Wolverine
Deadpool
Hank Pym
Wasp
Hawkeye

...As you can see a lot of my favorite characters are DC, but something about Marvel I just like a lot. I guess by default I lean DC, but I like the stories more from Marvel, maybe that's just because I have not read a whole lot of DC and Marvel stories to really compare the two, but I don't know... Anyway good article, its your opinion and said it in a none jerky way, you get 1,938 cool points for that!
