JOHN WICK Star Keanu Reeves Reiterates WOLVERINE Hopes; Says He's Spoken To James Gunn About CONSTANTINE 2

Keanu Reeves is currently doing the rounds to promote John Wick: Chapter 4 and recently took part in a Reddit AMA. It's well worth checking out if you haven't already, but there are a couple of noteworthy answers that may offer a hint about what's to come for the legendary actor in both the Marvel and DC Universes.

Asked if there's a role in his career he regrets turning down, Reeves responded, "No...but I did always want to play Wolverine."

This isn't the first time he's mentioned his interest in James "Logan" Howlett, of course, and we know Ghost Rider is also of interest. With Hugh Jackman set to reprise the role in Deadpool 3 (and likely Avengers: Secret Wars), we're not sure Reeves will get the opportunity, but he could always show up as a Variant!

It's previously been reported that The Matrix star has met with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, so both sides might just be waiting on the right character to come along.

That isn't Reeves' only recent meeting, however, as another fan quizzed the actor on whether he's spoken to DC Studios' co-CEO James Gunn about Constantine 2.

"Yes, and me too," he said, confirming they'd met and agreeing that he would like to see the movie happen.

The sequel was announced by Warner Bros. prior to the formation of the new studio and we've since heard conflicting reports about whether it will become a reality. This bodes well, however, and no matter whether the Constantine sequel is an "Elseworlds" project or set in the new DCU, we have to believe there's room for this story somewhere.

Would you like to see Reeves don Wolverine's claws or are you more excited for him to return as Hellblazer? Let us know your thoughts on that in the comments section.

We need a brave reimagining of Wolverine like they did with Nahmooore. I want Awkwafina as Wolverine.

@Spawnnn - shes already playing the random OP sidekick who’ll probably save his life in the next Avengers film

@Spawnnn - Awkwafina almost made Shang-Chi unwatchable. I hope I never have to sit through a movie with her in it again.
Batmangina

@Spawnnn - This feels like something that might actually happen in today's world. Add her to The Marvels and it will make TWO BILLION instead of just ONE BILLION DOLLARS.

Throw in a they/them Spider Gwen and THREE BILLION dollars is a lock.

@Batmangina - 10 BILLION if every one of them is in a wheelchair.

Daken might work because he's also half Japanese, but I don't see him as Logan.

Love Keanu but he 100% is the worst choice for Logan, like at least the other rumored names can actually act.

Get on it Kevin.

I would rather not even have Mr Sinister at all than to watch them make a joke out of him then kill him swiftly right after

@DocSpock - Keanu would not be an ideal Sinister. He needs a stoic type of character. He doesn’t really have a big emotional range as an actor. Silver Surfer for example. Or, even though he has a smaller frame than I’d picture, I could see him as Cable.

Only decent ‘tough guy’ performance I’ve seen from him was Constantine. Actually bought him in that.

Unpopular opinion but I think the John Wick movies are good DESPITE him, not because of him. Love the guy but like most of his films, his acting is pretty awful in John Wick. Every tine he tries to be tough when he says ‘yeah’ I laugh.

He’s very likeable but he’s still an atrocious actor. And I’ll never forgice his shitty performance ruining Dracula, while Oldman was giving a ‘greatest of all time’ masterclass. The part where Drac flies into a terrifying monstrous rage as Keanu’s eating dinner, and the best K can do it look at him like he just farted.

The recent Deadline article talks about this being a Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy joint, not a DC Studios joint.

https://deadline.com/2023/02/akiva-goldsman-first-look-warner-bros-deal-constantine-keanu-reeves-i-am-legend-will-smith-michael-b-jordan-sequels-1235260641/

Maybe he was just responding yes to having talk to the 'studio', but not necessarily to DC Studios.

@tmp3 - I dont know. From all the "The Last Man on Earth" versions cinema gave us, I would put I am Legend somewhere at the bottom. Dont know, why so many people liked this movie.

@Spawnnn - idk i just thought it was a lot of fun but i also have an insane amount of nostalgia for it because i was like 7 when i saw it in cinemas haha. constantine was a film i always thought was just kind of boring, and when i got more into the comics liked even less because of keanu's portrayal.

Cast a new Constantine. New movie maybe leading to Justice League Dark.

Keanu has demonstrated his range in several films, he has tried to come off as a gruff bad ass before, and even when he is rage screaming... its kinda adorable and tame. He doesn't have the range, I'm sorry. Plus he's super tall, thin and old.

No, sorry Keanu. Maybe Hank McCoy, and Beast.
