It's been a very long time but I am happy to say, welcome back to the weekly VS POLL.

It's been a long time (since last December to be exact) but I'm more than happy to finally present you with the latest VS POLL, which has actually been laying around completed since that time. There have been so many people, posting so many POLLS, that I felt I should let the weekly VS POLL chill out for a while. However, many CBM readers have been nagging me to resume the weekly cause for debate and while I'm not sure I will do that, I thought it would be good to finally post this one that I have had ready to go all this time.

First off, I would like to say that although both of these characters are from different comic publishing companies, both are very similar in style and powers. Both characters have also been featured in animation and in live action television shows.


((( THESE TWO CHARACTERS MEET BY ACCIDENT IN THE ASTRAL PLANE. BOTH BELIEVING THE OTHER TO BE WRONGFULLY INTRUDING INTO THEIR PLANE OF REALITY. )))


In one corner we have Dr. Strange Master of the Mystic arts. In the Marvel universe he is without a doubt, the Sorcerer Supreme. For a rundown on Dr. Strange's powers and abilities (((Click Here))).

weneed: Not at all. I was doing these VS POLLS every Saturday afternoon last year for a couple of months or so (click on some of the links if you missed them at the time). They became so popular that others started posting Polls until the Features section contained (and still does for the most part) almost nothing else, so I stopped. As I said, this one has been sitting around since last Dec and people have been bugging me to do more so here it is.

Trudy: I could never forget Wanda but she is not so much a magician as a pure mystic, wouldn't you say? While she is arguably more powerful, she hasn't got anywhere near the pinpoint precision these two do. Correct me if I'm mistaken.

Vote definitely goes to STRANGE. World Shields and closing black holes swung my vote.

Fate relies on the Helm and when wearing the helm he can't counteract spells that have been already cast. Strange would be able to exploit that.

weneed@ Anyone can do polls here and Hawks has done them for quite a while and note, they are all quality match-ups. No Kick Ass vs. Spiderman battles. ;-)

Superdude@ Fate has a better dress sense? That is very subjective. Strange is styling compared to the yellow and blue tights with a helm that covers your face. The helm alone detracts any style from Fate...and I like Dr. Fate, but...:-P

Trudy: You're right, she is a bazooka but what I meant was that she's not a spell caster. She taps into "Chaos Magic" and just lets loose, no real aim or sometimes... she just subconsciously "alters" reality.

GREAT ONE @Hawks. I kinda started runnin out of ideas and suggestions for the Vs articles. But don't think i was trying to out do ya, just had pretty ideas i wanted to post myself. Glad to see you're back with yours.

Dr. Fate wins in better costume, but Dr. Strange would beat him. :-)

I don't know where all the bedsheet comments are coming from. I think people need to be reading some Dr. Strange comics and seeing what his outfit really looks like. ;-)

Sagemode: I never thought that bud. I chilled when everybody else began posting them. I've got a couple of more that I may post in the next few weeks Ghost Rider/Spawn and Captain America/Batman.

I'm surprised to see that so many people remembered these.

@Hawks: oh ok, just making sure. Everyone just started posting dumb shit like Curling Iron vs the Swimming Pool. I even gave it a rest for a little while.

My take on your two choices.........

Ghost Rider vs Spawn: i think Spawn is a bit more powerful than Ghost Rider, but that Penance Stare is gonna cause Spawn problems.

Captain America vs Batman: Cap is slightly physically more advanced than Bats, plus he is just as good of a fighter in both strategy and skills. Bats does have his utility belt in which he can use to fight dirty with, but Cap has gone up against dirtier players and came out on top. My votes for Captain America.

I fear these boards have become a little too enthusiastically pro Marvel. Saying anything positive about DC (with the exception of Batman) nowadays can bring about the same amount of fervent contempt as an MSNBC fan has for the FOX News buff!
A famous stupid man once asked a profoundly intelligent question, "Can't we all just get along"!
Marvel is kicking butt on all side right now but I still will hold out hope that DC will get their shit together soon!
