Because of the Frost Giants attacking the 9 realms at the beginning of the film, the casket of ancient winters, and with the Thor sequel titled Thor The Dark World, Malekith and the dark elves are assumed to be the villains that Thor will face off against in the sequel.The only question is, who will be up to play Malekith if Mads Mikkelsen does not do the villain?

no to Bale, Hardy, and Ifans. they all had starring roles in CBMs this year.

no to Brody. he should be Ant-Man.

I've only seen Matheson in Sherlock Holmes. could be interesting but I'd rathe r see a bigger name.

only really remember Flemyng in TLOEG (movie sucks btw). he might do alright.

I could see Cumberbatch, Makenzie Crook, or if older Jeremy Irons. Hardy or Bale seem like they want to get away from the superhero world IMO.
