Avengers Film Needs to Set Up Ultron's Future

Whether it's the Kree, Skrulls/Chitauri or whomever as the alien invaders in the first Avengers film, the story should step up Ultron in Avengers 2.

The Avengers is filming in Downtown Cleveland and there is a ton of great videos and photos being leaked across the Internet showing there will be some form of alien invasion.

Whether its the Kree, Skrulls/Chitauri or whomever, director Joss Whedon will hopefully set up a sequel to feature the deadly robot Ultron in some capacity.

Obviously, there will be other stand-alone Marvel films between The Avengers and a possible sequel, but let me be honest in saying that every single person on this planet LOVES to see killer robots. If this statement isn't true, then why have all the Transformers films grossed billions despite the well-known hate for director Michael Bay and what he has done to the characters?

The reason is the Transformers are killer robots...well at least the Decepticons are.

Hopefully, you see my attempt to make some kind of point here and that Ultron should be the next villain in an Avengers sequel. (Okay, so Ultron is one of my personal favorites villains too, but again, who doesn't love killer robots?)

If you're going to have an Avengers ensemble cast and film, you better have a formidable force opposing them and having an invading Ultron army to take over would indeed be a formidable force for the Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

This is just my take on the matter and an attempt to look forward into the future of the film series.

Hell yeah! Ultron all the way! But we need Hank Pym first.... Would be awesome to see a villian with no back story, emotion, reason, or remorse! And to see Hulk or Thor get owed would be EPIC! Avengers will be pushed to they're breaking point!!!

^What's wrong with a psycho robot hellbent on patricide, the destruction of the human race, and the determination to build a family that adores him?

I always thought ultron was one of the most uninteresting villains...besides the avengers don't "need" anything besides to be a kickass film

I would pay double tickets to see this robot on the big screen.

Ultron has to be one of the most interesting, complex evil robots in comics.

I think most fans on this site would love to see Ultron as the second movies villian. It should be set up in an after the credits scene something like this. The Avengers defeat the alien threat in this movie and as they are doing the autopsy Hank Pym is the lead Doc. Then Give Hank and Jan a movie of their own with heavy emphasis on Shield trying to get Hank to create an A.I.

You don't really cover a whole lot in this editorial. Do you agree?

i agree. if a sequel is greenlit, they somehow have to top the massiveness of the one they just released. It should be Thanos in the 3rd one.

Of course he's gonna be a villain. It wouldn't be a right Avengers trilogy without him. Best part is he works whether they use his 616 or Ultimate origin.

he should be in the third movie so that they can develop Ant Man and Wasp in a sequel

I'd rather haver Ultron (or whichever ennemy) being slowly set up through the other franchise's movies.

Ultron has built one ex-wife, one current wife, and 2 sons. He is not your average evil robot.

It's also funny to note that most of the family members he builds have gone on to become superheroes-much to his frustration.

Ultron could also lead to The Vision in another Avengers film. Not sure how good that would be though

The Avengers with no Ultron is like Iron Man with no Mandarin, and look how good thats going for Iron Man. Mandarin still hasn't been in a movie and fans are getting frustrated.

You can't make a film franchis and not do a movie with the character's arch nemesis. It just isn't right.

@Hush2010

thats an excellant point with your after credits idea. that would be the perfect way to set up the ant man movie

CorndogBurglar has it down to patch. It's a little hard to not do a good superhero film trilogy without their respective arch-enemy.

It's like a Batman trilogy without the Joker. They've down it in almost every superhero film, except Iron Man (but I see that happening soon). It just doesn't work, fans get frustrated and annoyed; Just read half of the forums.

Ultron would be perfect for a second film!

Yes! The first movies sees the team form against a common enemy. The second sees the team come through for another team member (Pym) against a personal opponent. The third movie entire roster (Black Panther, Vision, Hercules, Scarlet Witch, etc.) saves reality from Thanos!
