EDITORIAL:

Dragonball has a huge impact on media and a huge upbringing of fans since it's debut. It is one of the most popular anime cartoons ever conceived. Then came the live action movie Dragonball Evolution which pretty much destroyed any hope for another try in the live action territory, also the film to say didn't follow the exact story of Dragonball and how it was meant to be. The only thing left is for then to learn from it and rebuild the Dragonball franchise once again. Include some of the classic characters and feature an original story that goes brisk with the material. Rebuilding the franchise again and not completely starting fresh is key to do or the audience would feel alienated to what is happenings

Once everything is rebuilt it opens potential for new characters and worlds. It opens potential to gain it to a wider spread of people. Building a foundation on merchandise is always important and keen too as Dragonball is slowly being lost in a new era of media than it was ten years ago. With that said in mind it is important to maintain the mythos and keep it intact preserving it for many generations to come.

I am personally a huge fan of Dragonball myself, mainly Dragonball Z since it was a favorite show of mine. To enjoy seeing a hero that shows much power and grace was amazing to see. That hero is known as Goku, one of the greatest cartoon characters to have been portrayed on television. I have much respect for the show as it inspired me so much to believe in myself. I have the uttermost respect for the characters and creators.

That was my small editorial on the importance of rebuilding the franchise and now I present my idea for how to finally make the perfect Dragonball film the fans deserve.

Title: Dragonball Awakening 3D

Director: James Wan - (He has brilliant camera work and a sense of film making. He would instantly turn Dragonball into a work of cinematic art. He is truly experienced at these type of films)

_________________________

Composer: Clint Mansell - (I believe Clint Mansell could help move the picture with his composing work. He is brilliantly talented especially with films such as Moon which must have been a challenge)

_________________________

Screenplay/Writer: Jacky Timish - (Jacky is a great writer and has many ideas. He currently writes these beautifully well written editorials and if you read them you would see how much so he expresses his love to respect the original desired material that was created. I believe Jacky Timish could make a great story involving Dragonball and turn these characters into something like never before)

Story: Dragonball Awakening is a new take on the Dragonball franchise and a reboot of Dragonball Evolution. It takes place in a post apocalyptic Tokyo where a young warrior named Goku is struggling to find his balance in life. Trained in the mystical arts of Karate by Master Roshi he soon learns he must fulfil a prophecy brought down from his race. Goku soon learns the true meaning of his hidden origins and his destiny to find the glowing orbs known as The Dragonballs that will unleash the magical Dragon from enchantment. While that has happened a renegade alien named Frieza has landed his ship in Japan searching for the very same Dragonballs and will stop at nothing to have his ways. Dragonball Awakening is a modern adaption of Dragonball Z featuring classic characters and unforgettable jaw dropping 3D fights.

Setting: The world is a post apocalyptic Tokyo which it is all set in. The final ending battle takes place on a spaceship in space. It still keeps the same environment and worlds from the cartoon series.

Dialogue: It would be perfect if the dialogue was monotone similar to a Shakespeare classical story as the original names have been kept also.

Characters: I wanted to keep the cast as how I would see it if there was an Americanized adaptation of the material being made. I apologize if this offends anyone as I also kept the original names intact. I wanted to see through this as the Dragonball with actors we know and can relate to seeing. They would still maintain the same costume and look even the setting will be a direct adaption of what has been displayed.

_________________________

Justin Timberlake as Goku - (I see a hero in Timberlake. I see a Goku in this actor. From being a talented singer to an actor in a variety of movies is a long journey. It just reminded me of Goku's own journey from being a warrior to becoming a savior and hero. I think he can brilliantly act out the courageous yet confused Goku)
_________________________

Peter Weller as Master Roshi - (Peter Weller is a high actor of authority in such famous roles like Robocop. Master Roshi is the man who trains Goku and helps him on his journey. I think he can bring a sense of control and a skilled value within the character of Master Roshi)
_________________________

Helena Bonham Carter as Chi-Chi - (Chi-Chi is an important character in Dragonball and to the story. Helena Bonham Carter is a diverse actress capable of many different roles especially seen with another actor such as Johnny Depp)
_________________________

Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Gohan - (The character of Gohan is usually seen as fearless and willing to defend his honor. Aaron Taylor-Johnson as seen in Kick-Ass would have the ability to make such a character believable. In terms of him in Kick-Ass he played a hero rising up to the end. Gohan is still rising and learning his ways)
_________________________

Sarah Silverman as Bulma - (Bulma is a very charming and personality filled character. I think a great comedy actress like Sarah Silverman would suit the role)
_________________________

Ethan Hawke as Yamcha - (Yamcha is a talented martial artist and for the role I picked a dedicated actor such as Ethan Hawke. Hawke has been starting in many films recently, he shows a wide range of acting ability from strength to emotion)
_________________________

Terrence Howard as Vegeta - (I believe in bringing as much diversity in films which is why I brought Terrence Howard for the role as Vegeta. He is a fantastic actor I believe that could bring a version of Vegeta we have never seen before)
_________________________

Jonah Hill as Krillin - (Jonah Hill is an excellent comedy actor and he also has the right build to play a character as such, Krillin. The role would require him to go bald and dress like a monk which I totally believe Jonah Hill can improve around the whole idea easily in the mind of Krillin)
_________________________

Andrew Garfield as Trunks - (Trunks is a rebellious free spirit which is why I chose Andrew Garfield. His performance as the doubtfully careless Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man has been utterly bitter and lifeless which is why I chose this "good" actor for this rebellious role)
_________________________

Seth Green as Recoome - (He totally looks exactly like Recoome. He is a great actor too even at improvising. Would make a wonderful addition to the cast)
_________________________

Brad Pitt as Tien Shinhan - (Tien Shinhan is usually seen in a mentoring role so why not bring a well known actor in the standings. A movie I had in mind when I picked Brad Pitt for this excellent fighter role was Fight Club)
_________________________

Stephen Lang as Piccolo - (Piccolo is an extremely well known character in Dragonball lore. So why not bring in an experienced actor such as Stephen Lang. I recently saw his role in Avatar with his expertise in leadership which I found believable in every sense. I think this is an actor if you make him into the Piccolo we know people will barely recognize the difference)
_________________________

Ed Harris as Kami - (Kami is an important role to the Dragonball Z mythos which is why I brought on such a great actor as Ed Harris. Kami is old and wise as such this actor is in the same vain to be this part)
_________________________

Jean-Claude Van Damme as Frieza - (Frieza is the main villain of the film and who better to play him than an all time fighter Jean-Claude Van Damme. Notable for his recent villainous role in Expendables 2 he would make the perfect adversary for Goku to face. He would also bring a new distinct feel to the character of Frieza)
_________________________

Arnold Schwarzenegger as King Cold - (Limit the Mr.Freeze jokes on this one lol. Arnold is making a huge comeback to acting and would be great to see him in a major role like this. He is the entire embody of King Cold how he is. A fearless ruthless man. It reminds of when Arnold played Conan as that is the amount of energy I imagined King Cold to have within)
_________________________

Channing Tatum as Cooler - (Channing Tatum is a good actor when he really acts. I think he would be perfect as Cooler, the character displays his personality in a way this is just a perfect casting to me)
_________________________

Emile Hirsch as Zarbon - (Emile Hirsch looks like an exact replica of Zarbon if he ever managed to find a true human form. Hirsch is not a major huge actor but I decided it could be fun to test the limits of where you can go with such a role)
_________________________

Idris Elba as Dodoria - (Idris Elba would be a great addition to play one of Frieza's henchmen including being proven as a diverse actor. I haven't seen him in much of a villainous vein but it would be great to see this actor channel this character in a new way)
_________________________

Ray Park as Cui - (I wanted Ray Park to be in this movie because he is such a talented fighter as displayed in characters such as Darth Maul and Snake Eyes. This is a bit of a randomized casting but I really want Ray Park to be apart of this. Would make a welcomed addition to a Dragonball film)
_________________________

Benedict Cumberbatch as The Voice of Shenron The Dragon - (Shenron is the Dragon within the mythos of the series. Benedict Cumberbatch has the perfect voice to make this character seem so real and to life. He is also voicing Smaug The Dragon in The Hobbit which inspired me to cast him in this role)
_________________________

Robert Downey Jr as Hercule - (Hercule is the media loving strong battle fighter as displayed in Dragonball Z and who better to play him than Robert Downey Jr. Do I need to explain more?)
_________________________

Daniel Craig as Doctor Gero - (Doctor Gero is a man who does a lot of messed up experiments. I would say his personality level is nearing derangement. Who better to play this psychotic doctor than Daniel Craig. Daniel Craig notable for his role as James Bond is perfect for the role as it is intended to be serious and creepy in monologue. His role should be more expanded on in a sequel)
_________________________

Mila Kunis as Android 18 - (Android 18 is a deadly emotionless female robotic killer and who better to play her than Mila Kunis. I was reminded of her excellent performance in American Psycho 2 to realize how well she can convey the role of a cold hearted killer to becoming a product of society. Android 18 should have a cameo in the film with a more expanded role in the sequel)

Possible Sequel Title: Dragonball Awakening 2 3D/ Dragonball 2 / The Dragonball / Dragonball 2: The Legend Continues / Dragonball 2: The Rise of Cell / Dragonball Evolution / Dragonball 2: Electric Boogaloo

Sequel Villains:
________________________

Hugh Jackman as Cell - (I believe seeing Hugh Jackman as a villain would be great. He has the perfect height and build for cell including his emotions being channeled. After seeing him as Wolverine I think this is another major franchise role he needs to take)
_________________________

Adam Sandler as Majin Buu - (I thought of Majin Buu more as a light hearted villain with a dark past behind him. Adam Sandler hasn't been up to par with his roles lately but in a movie like this it could be a great comeback for him)
