I did a fancast for the NEW EXCALIBUR quite some time ago and right
after it I started thinking and working on an EXCALIBUR 1 fancast.
This is that fancast finally finished.(Alliteration was just an accident...
I swear!) lol (Guess I've read too many Stan Lee editorials in old
MARVEL comics!) ;D
This is kind of a condensed cast of the whole run of the comic but the
Bad Guys and the story are of the beginnings of EXCALIBUR and the
several starting issues of the comic.
Of course I've got MOJO'S WARWOLVES but the main villain is SAT-YR-9
and her hired hands, TECHNET, those troublesome paid bounty hunters
from alien dimensions and worlds!
I guess the main reason I like the Classic EXCALIBUR is because of
all the freaky other-dimensional characters that have wend their ways
through the pages of the comics. Plus I'm really into the lore of the
British Isles, England, Wales, Scotland, & of course Ireland (of
which my main heritage is).
I know Excalibur is the group for all of Europe but the British Isles is
where it's headquartered.
About the origin of EXCALIBUR briefly:
SHADOWCAT and NIGHTCRAWLER were recovering under the care of
MOIRA MacTAGGERT on MUIR ISLAND due to their injuries sustained
during the “MUTANT MASSACRE”. Both were devastated to hear of the
supposed deaths of the X-MEN during the “FALL OF THE MUTANTS”.
BRIAN BRADDOCK, brother to the X-Man PSYLOCKE, and his
girlfriend MEGGAN were both similarly devastated.
Meanwhile, RACHEL SUMMERS had escaped from MOJOWORLD, and
found herself back on Earth in London, England pursued by MOJO'S
WARWOLVES. She was also being hunted by the TECHNET, sent by
SAT-YR-9. Kitty, Kurt, Brian, and Meggan helped Rachel defeat both
groups of her attackers, and afterward decided to form a new superhero
team to continue the legacy of the X-Men. Naming the team "Excalibur"
after the magical sword of KING ARTHUR, they set up their
headquarters in Brian Braddock's lighthouse. They eventually resided
in Brian's home, BRADDOCK MANOR.
MY EXCALIBUR casting...
EXCALIBUR:
RUPERT PENRY-JONES was almost playing Brian Braddock on MI-5
(SNOOPS in Britain) just without the super-powers.
CAPTAIN BRITAIN (BRIAN BRADDOCK): RUPERT PENRY-JONES- 6'2”
Rupert is a tall dashing actor, perfect for CAP BRIT.
Sammy is so sexy and is the spitting image of MEGGAN.
MEGGAN: SAMMY WINWARD
I personally think Michael Sheen is perfect for NIGHTCRAWLER, a more
forceful, athletic, younger and dynamic Kurt Wagner than Singer's timid
old one.
NIGHTCRAWLER (KURT WAGNER): MICHAEL SHEEN- 5'9”
Michelle is such a cutie and a perfect fit for the slightly older Kitty.

David Cassidy's “little girl” is my fave for RACHEL SUMMERS.
RACHEL SUMMERS (PHOENIX/MARVEL GIRL): KATIE CASSIDY
COLOSSUS (PIOTR NIKOLEIVITCH RASPUTIN): DANIEL CUDMORE
Cerise is an extraterrestrial from the Shi'ar race. She arrived upon Earth
after deserting the empire's brutal army, refusing to fire upon innocents and
as a result causing the death of her crew. At first she was attacked by EXCALIBUR, but when they realized she was only fighting defensively, they
called a truce. Cerise became a member of Excalibur and was romantically involved with NIGHTCRAWLER.
CIRESE: JOLENE BLALOCK
WIDGET transported mutant child, COLIN McKAY (can imitate any
sound with his voice), to an alternate dimension earth called, Ee'rath,
where he was trained to be a proficient warrior. As he grew older he
took on a more leonine appearance, and with his two enchanted swords
that can't harm anyone with a pure heart, he eventually found his way
back here to earth of this dimension, fully grown, where he became a
member of EXCALIBUR.
KYLUN (COLIN McKAY): DAMIAN LEWIS
WOLFSBANE (RAHNE SINCLAIR): BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD
Ed would be perfect for the mystical FERON.
FERON: ED WESTWICK
Yeah, I know Zoe's from a Brit Soap Opera but I think she would
be great for Amanda Sefton.
AMANDA SEFTON (DAYTRIPPER): ZOE LISTER
Bradley is playing Arthur in the BBC's “MERLIN” and is ideal for
the techno-organic alien DOUGLOCK.
DOUGLOCK (DOUGLOCK/WARLOCK): BRADLEY JAMES+CGI
I cast Rene here, a big star, because she is kind of a den mother to
EXCALIBUR like Prof-X is for the X-MEN. It should be an A-list
actress with gravitas to play her.
MOIRA MacTAGGERT: RENE RUSSO
Micromax is quite the same as Hank Pym, able to shrink and grow in
size but he also has some limited shapeshifting abilities and can make
himself look like a handsome young man when he's actually a
balding, paunchy middle-aged man.
Gareth played Ianto Jones on TORCHWOOD. He looks just like
the young handsome manifestation of Scott Wright (Micromax).
MICROMAX (SCOTT WRIGHT): GARETH DAVID-LLOYD
BETSY BRADDOCK (PSYLOCKE): OLIVIA WILDE
Mimic can take on the attributes of any other mutant.
George Stults is Geoff Stult's brother and oddly enough they played
brothers on “SEVENTH HEAVEN”.

THE VILLAINS:
Billie is perfection for the diabolical despot from an alternate
earth/universe.

TECHNET--
Conchata from TWO AND A HALF MEN has the bigger-than-life persona
to play the big alien battleaxe leader of the inter-dimensional bounty
hunters, TECHNET.
GATECRASHER: CONCHATA FARRELL + CGI
YAP is a cowardly little alien who clings to the back of GATECRASHER
and can transport TECHNET anywhere they need to go throughout any
dimension or universe.
YAP: CGI
SCATTERBRAIN can scramble anyone's synapses and I think the
beautiful JAIME KING from Sin City & Bulletproof Monk is ideal to
play her.
SCATTERBRAIN: JAIME KING
FERO2 is extremely adept at fighting with his blades, with his four
arms and agility.
Alan who played AQUAMAN on SMALLVILLE and did the body for
BEOWULF is a decent enough actor to play FERRO2.
FERRO2: ALAN RITCHSON + CGI
RINGTOSS has a face of pure energy and can create rings of solidified energy
that can entrap her opponents.
RINGTOSS: CGI
CHINA DOLL is an alien who can shrink other beings to trinket-size by
touch.
CHINA DOLL: CGI + CHARACTER ACTOR (VOICE)
These characters are quite non-humanoid aliens so I threw them all
together:
WAXWORKS- Waxworks has the power to cause the body of
any being he touches with his tentacles to temporarily lose all rigidity, incapacitating them.
JOYBOY- Has the power to read and grant, an individual's greatest
desire, but with a twist. For instance, when SHADOWCAT was stuck
in her phased state and longed to be solid, he made her corporeal
but grossly obese. His power indicates some kind of telepathic
ability, though this may just be reflexive. Levitates inside a cradle-like
object. Has negligible physical strength or ability.
THUG- He's a highly-skilled hand to hand combatant and has super
strength and durability.
BODYBAG- He can produce a fast-acting enzyme that causes his
victims to lose consciousness. After he has rendered them unconscious,
he unhinges his jaw in order to swallow them and store them in
expanding sacs of skin on his back. As long as his victims are inside
these body sacs they will remain insensate. Once free of his body, the
victims will regain consciousness, but are groggy for a short time at
first. He can apparently only store up to three human-sized victims
at a time. Is allergic to polymers (like Nylon), and if he ingests them,
they cause him to be violently sick.
NUMBERS- He's the group's accountant and despite his great size
has little ability as a combatant.
