Check out this artwork by aspiring comic book artist Lynne Yoshii featuring various ladies from both Marvel and DC. Going by this excellent work, she shouldn't be aspiring too long..

Aside from being just all round great artwork, I think she captures the personalities of these gals brilliantly. To see more of Yoshii's work check out her Deviant Art page.

A little too derivative of Adam Hughes (in essence), but it's still nice work.

I'm sorry, And it may be that i am close minded, but why? I mean I feel IMHO that Comic book art, should stay the hell away as far as possible from manga/anime, I know some people who like that stuff, but it just has no effect/appeal/ on me whatsoever, much less that it is intriguing. But then again, it's why it's called FAN Art so, I guess it's cool. Just not for a aspiring "Comic Book Artist." Anime/manga is only good for one thing in my opinion, expressing emotion, which is awesome in some cases for comics, but it's not what comic book art is. Comic Book Art is about, action, explaining and appeal, but then again, I am unique, and "close minded."

To me, one screams "COMIC BOOK BADASSERY!" And then the other screams "MEMORABILLIA FOR LISCENSING MERCHANDISE AND ADOLESCENT CUTE AND CUDDLY STUFF ANIMALS!" Guess which one, none the less, the artist above is good at what she does. :)

I do have to admit, it is cute, but not something to make cover of a mainstream comic. I'm done bitching, sorry.

the closer to anime for me the lamer. that's just my taste. some of this is pretty good but a lot of it is very plastic, soulless or something. meh.

batwoman is the best, but it very much copies willimans/blackman ... doesn't look like the rest.

I don't like the manga ones as much as the others. The best ones are Phoenix, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, and Invisible Woman. X-23 is also awesome artistically, but I don't really like the character (good concept for a character, poor execution)

Man i wish i could see these. Goddamn workplace blocks all of them. I miss out on pretty much any fanart article :(

Intruder- IMHO, Joe Q is above Lee and Turner. Hell, i even think Lee's been slipping of late. You even got Ivan Reis topping him with his variant cover on Lee's own book. Yet no one de-thrones Joe Q off the coverwork. He is THE MAN.

Some were really great.. like Sue Storm, Electra, Batwoman, and Wonder Woman. But, Rogue and the White Queen weren't so great. [shrugs]

I even prefer Gary Frank as an artist over Lee. His cover to Justice League #7 is avoe and beyond Lee's #6 cover, and his Batman: Earth One looks off the hook!!!

Love me some Ms. Marvel man, damn! And why the hate on manga? I do understand that everyone has their own tastes, but saying manga can't convey a ton in its expression is crazy (the Ninja Scroll novels, GITS, Robotech/Macross, and Rorouni Kenshin beg to differ).

These are really impressive. It's hard to pick a favorite between all these.

I will say, I'm not feeling the Elektra one. Compared to the rest, it looks a bit more in the style of anime.
