FAN ART: Green Lantern 2011 DVD covers [EditNinja]

FAN ART: Green Lantern 2011 DVD covers [EditNinja]

After excitedly seeing one of my faux Bluray DVD covers embedded in an article on CBM this morning, I thought I'd share some of my other 2011 CBM faux covers.

I assembled* these covers months ago and printed them to see how they'd look...

After collecting fan-manips a few months ago I started assembling these:

If you see them being sold downtown, hehe, let me know!

*None of the derived artwork is mine. I can't and wont take credit for those manips - I've just used pieces of my favourite fan manips to print a personal DVD.

I'm really just showing these to hype others into trying to make their own.
Lots of us like to make posters(or trailers, hehe) but - what about DVD covers?

This is an updated version of the second one below:

...And this was the first one I tried:

If anything, you can fool your (non-CBM-savvy) friends into thinking you've got a leaked copy of the movie...

I like the back of the 1st one but I hate the front, its kind of too tacky, a litte too big and ignorant. But the 2nd cover is awesome, you should just keep it like that, nice and simple. Combine them and it looks great!

@invalensname - Thanks for your concise honesty. I actually agree with everything you say there: I rushed the 'updated' first one, but the back looks better using WormyT's Sinestro pic and Kilowog. You're quite right. I'll do just that when I 'overhaul' them again.

@LEEE777 - Thanks, Yeah, if you look at the back of that Thor cover, next to the MARVEL logo, I wrote 'By EditNinja' Haha, Good ol' Google, eh!!

@DDD - Hahahaha, thanks, I'm Australian, so my counterfeit money's no good to you, sir.
Hey, much appreciated!

Very cool! I kind of agree invalensname, with the exception that the logo on the first cover is a lot cooler than the second one. So I guess the best combination would be to use the second front cover art and the logo and back from the first. ([sigh] nothing against Mark Strong, but I do think Jason Isaacs would have made the perfect Sinestro)

@BIGBMH - Thanks, man.

@LEEE777 - Thanks again. Yeah, the Australian Classification Board put big ratings logos on new releases now, interfering with the artwork.

@Anil Rickly - Thanks, Oh, yeah, Cap is a high priority as I 'assemble' these. Some of those recent manips are screaming out to be used for a DVD/bluray cover.

@Yeah, I know. I thought it would be cool to imagine GL R-Rated, but having seen 'First Flight', it's a bit unrealistic. (Hey, They've gotta sell toys!)
