First..

And all pretty cool.
Could've been cooler on The Man of Steel one though.

Ugh...more minamilst stuff....

But the Avengers one is the best.

That last one sucks. I know it's in reference to the original Superman poster, but that tagline: "Believe" SUCKS!!. Time to move on and think of something new.

The last one is AWESOME, don't think we should forget the classics.

Superman tagline: "Orphan of one world. Protector of another."

That's the tagline I used in a Man of Steel poster I made a few months ago.

Ok. This is in no way meant to offend or cause a backlash. But how is it that the new 'user choice' system is already headed for shit?

I posted an editorial 13 hours ago and it had two 'thumbs up'. It now stands at four. Yet this article has none and sits third in the 'users choice' section.

PaulRom already said that editors/trusted users still have the power to move articles on to main at will but only seem to be doing so with their own...like before.

I don't want glory or am a part of AdSense hoping for a payout. Main means more people view the article and discuss its content. That's the bit I like.

I loved the (idea of the) new system and yes I'm clearly being a whiney bitch but I'm just confused...

Minimalist posters on the front page? How unusual. (sarcasm)

The Arkham City poster is pretty decent.

Yes, I agree that the Avengers one is cool but could we just put the whole minimalist shit to bed already!? I've seen HUNDREDS of better artists, known or not, that put a lot more effort into their creations. Instead, we showcase the lazy? Give me a break!

Not sure, but I think The Avengers one is kind of old? Could be just me though; think I've ever seen that...probably somewhere else. That's cool. The Batman: Arkham City one, if given a bit more work, could be great. And the Man of Steel one is nicely done, but it needs a better concept and idea.

Minimalist posters that were posted here lately could be too much indeed, but I'm not complaining, as long as they're nice. And minimalist posters in no way are 'lazy' stuffs...these ones are not the best examples indeed, but to make one requires a lot of thinking for the idea; especially since such poster must be simple, yet not dull. Not to mention the execution, which needs a lot of carefulness and creativity. On the outside they may look simple (hence the name), but the process is never as simple.

Anyway, that's just Thor's hair blowing to me, not a ponytail. I believe it's taken from that image of Thor standing on Jotunheimr from Thor. :)

CraptainAmerica: FYI Josh is an editor who doesn't need any thumb up to make his article to Main. And yes, it has worked. I believe I saw a couple of articles getting to Main with the help of the system (one was an Aquaman Fan Fic, I perfectly remember that)...probably that Gorilla Grodd concept art that got to the 'Users' Pick' page earlier today (originally from the Fan Fic section) - still sitting there so far - also used the help of this system. Relax, bud. Probably yours is just not that much yet. :)

CraptainAmerica - 1/17/2012, 1:36 AM
@jolt. I am relaxed. My point was that mine had four thumbs up. The article Mr Galactus posted said there would be no more editor favouritism and of people 'liked' your article it'd make main regardless of being an editor/trusted user or not. If this makes main just because it's an editor work then it's exactly like the old system buddy

CraptainAmerica: Yes, and in this case Big G didn't reveal how many thumbs up needed to send an article right to Main (a question I asked him when the system was announced). But try that Gorilla Grodd article that's still on Main (which I believe got there because of this system); it currently has 10 thumbs up. Probably that's more or less the 'enough' amount of likes needed to get an article to Main. My point is that probably yours is yet to have the enough amount, but that shouldn't stop you from keep on trying. I'm a witness that the system works; could be this is just not your time yet. :)

ELgUaSon: Haha, glad to know I'm right! I don't have any idea either of how that image suddenly popped out in my mind once I saw that poster in detail. :P

meh... these minimalist posters are way overrated and overused.

Seems to me "minimalist" now equals to "arts with little-to-no-effort".

MOS looks like it belongs to the original superman movies. Worst one of the 3.
I feel like more work could have been done with the Avengers one... it basically looks like IM is the only one going into battle while everyone else are posing. I guess Hawkeye looks like he's ready to fight but no one else looks engaged.
Arkham City is my fav. Very Batman and Arkham City-ish.

@CraptainAmerica - I don't have a horse in this race but I say you start a campaign to get as many people as you can to vote thumbs up on every article and let's see how many make main :)
