Aright, this is just a short premise:
After the events of The First Avenger: Captain America, S.H.I.E.L.D. base of operations, the Helicarrier, is attacked by unknown assailants. Fearing that the Hydra has returned, Director Nick Fury sends in Captain America, Black Widow, and Hawkeye to find, investigate, and destroy the Hydra.
The three Avengers, however find nothing of the Hydra and believe someone else was behind the attack.
Bruce Banner is taken to SHIELD headquarters and is placed under the direct supervision of Fury who is soon attacked by his own soldiers including Dugan and Colsen. Banner eventually unleashes the Hulk and helps Fury fight off the traitorous soldiers. Fury soon realizes that he and Hulk are under attack not by a few SHIELD soldiers, but by the ENTIRE SHIELD ARMY!
Fury calls in his three Avengers back for assistance and manages to call in Iron Man in the process.
Eventually the AVENGERS emerge victorious against the SHIELD army. Suddenly Banner changes back into the HULK and starts fighting the AVENGERS.
Soon Thor comes to aid the Avengers and tells them of an impending danger arising. He tells them that Hulk was under mind control from an "intelligent, yet fiendish malice known as Samuel Sterns."
ALL of the Avengers, including Hulk, find Samuel and confront him. Samuel plans to build a Utopian shaped in his image at the cost of millions of lives. He asks Banner for his allegiance and promises to cure him with with the promise of power and reuniting with Betty. Banner declines Samuel's offer. Just as the Avengers are about to fight, Samuel unleashes the "Abomination", Emil, who broke out of SHIELD headquarters, thanks to the SHIELD agents under Samuel's control.
The Avengers fight both Samuel and Blonsky and eventually kills them.
Soon after the events,(The End of the Movie) Iron Man asks Fury if he formed the Avengers because he knew of Samuel's intentions. Fury says he never knew about the threat of Samuel and tells the group he formed the Avengers for an even greater purpose. He introduces the Avengers to Hank and Janet Pym, who would become an addition to the team.
Fury then tells the Avengers, "I would like to talk to you all about an impending threat called: The Srkull."
So that's my Avengers story. I think it's a story that fits what the Avengers are: EPIC!
