“Out of the ashes of the old a new legend is born on the streets of New Orleans. A legend used by mothers to frighten bad little children. The dark handsome thief sneaking through the shadows of the night. The thief who tosses lightning from his hands and steals the heart of your girl. The thief searching for the love he can never have. The thief. The traitor to all. So goes the legend of Gambit.”
Taken from the Gambit comics by Howard Mackie
The story of this movie would be Gambit growing up in New Orleans falling in love with Bella Donna and marrying her to unite the two guilds: Thieves and Assassins. Gambit then fights Julien and kills him leading him to be banned from New Orleans crushing Bella. Time goes by where Gambit is away and is brought back for tithing time which requires all members to be present. He finds out that Julien is alive and Bella is in a form of coma. The main villains for this movie would be Julien and Candra. Julien wants all the power for himself where Gambit foils that by ruining the tithing ceremony and brings Bella back to life only to discover that she has no recollection of who he is. Eventually meeting Rogue which would set up for a sequel with those two and Sinister as the villain.
Choices are all in order by preference
Gambit
Matthew Bomer

Ian Somerhalder
Jake Gyllenhaal
Reasons:
It's not that I hated Taylor Kitsch as Gambit in the Wolverine movie but watching him I just didnt see Gambit. Now that might have to do with the material of the movie but either way. He didn't use the accent which is crucial for Gambit. I believe that the person who plays him needs to be charming and Matthew Bomer has that. If you've seen White Collar you know what I mean. He's witty and funny all while being charming. A good speech coke can teach you a Cajun accent it's almost like Wolverine Origins didn't try. Ian Somerhalder and Jake Gyllenhaal hold similar qualities as Bomer. They both are charming in their own rights but I feel that Bomer would carry the character better. Bomer is 33 however looks like he's mid 20's so I think his age wouldnt be an issue.
Bella Donna
Amanda Seyfried
Brittany Snow
Zooey Deschanel
Reasons:
Bella Donna is an interesting character to cast because you need someone who you can like and hate at the same time. Needs to be somebody that Gambit falls in love with and eventually hates him for leaving New Orleans. My favorite actress is Zooey Deschanel however I do think she looks weird as a blonde which is why I put her 3rd. Amanda Seyfried is a popular and talented actress these days with her “chick flicks” however she can play serious roles as well. Brittany Snow I have always liked as an actress and she's got this cocky look to her which I find would be a good look for Bella.
Julien Boudreaux
Hayden Christensen
Cam Gigandet
Reasons:
I really like Hayden Christensen in this role. After watching him in Takers I became a fan, he played a really cool bad ass in that film. He could be a guy to rival Gambit and can be somebody that the crowd hates. Cam Gigandet I picked because he's in good shape and looks the part, plus I heard he can do a Cajun accent.
Jean-Luc LeBaeu
Dennis Quaid
Jeff Bridges
Reasons:
Dennis Quaid from The Big Easy made me think of him for this part. He's a very good actor and very well rounded as is Jeff Bridges. They're both old enough to pass as a father to Gambit which can be a younger character (45-50 range) as he is Gambit's adoptive father. I really like both of these guys work and believe that they both would bring a lot to the movie.
Marius Boudreaux
Harvey Keitel
Bruce Greenwood
Josh Brolin
Reasons:
I chose Harvey Keitel because he's an under rated actor and plays a very good villain which Marius is some what seen as. He blames Gambit for what his some Julien has turned into which he claims is no longer his son. Harvey holds a certain kind of intensity to him. Bruce Greenwood I chose because I saw him in Double Jeopardy doing a pretty good New Orleans accent. Josh Brolin I chose after seeing Wall Street 2, he can play a bad guy pretty well, somebody that you would just hate as you watch it.
Candra
Rhona Mitra
Reasons:
Sure she doesn't look the part and I don't think she'd have to be blonde either. I chose her because of her voice. I picture Candra as having this over powering voice that demands attention. Rhona provides this power plus she's not bad to look at and would be a convincing villain.
Cameos:
Rogue
Kate Mara
Reasons:
One thing that pissed me off about the X-Men movies, Rogue is supposed to be hot which adds to the fact that you can't touch her. Sorry to any Anna Paquin fans but she's not that level of hot. Kate Mara has that attractive factor and if anyone has seen Shooter then you'd know that she can do a southern accent.
Sinister
Jason Isaacs
Reasons:
I've seen him tossed around as a choice for Sinister and I kind of just jumped on board because I don't have a better choice. Jason Isaacs is a classic villain and plays the part well which I would like to see his take on the Mr. Sinister character.
