Green Lantern Corps By Robert Garlen by Robert Garlen
Composer: A film score (also sometimes called background music or incidental music) is original music written specifically to accompany a film. The score forms part of the film's soundtrack, which also usually includes dialogue and sound effects, and comprises a number of orchestral, instrumental or choral pieces called cues which are timed to begin and end at specific points during the film in order to enhance the dramatic narrative and the emotional impact of the scene in question. Scores are written by one or more composers, under the guidance of the film's director and/or producer, and are then usually performed by an ensemble of musicians – most often comprising an orchestra or band, instrumental soloists, and choir or vocalists – and recorded by a sound engineer.
Henry Jackman (Notable Works: Monsters vs Aliens, Kick Ass, X-Men First Class): Henry Really captured what i believe to be the perfect Green Lantern Score with X-Men First Class. He got the feel of an authentic team, a Enjoyable Villain, and a great set of individual character themes. No doubt for what I did with Green Lantern this script Henry Jackman would have the right sound to do a memorable, character driven score. It would truly be a Part Epic, Part Space Adventure, Part Character Drama.

Director: Directors are responsible for overseeing creative aspects of a film under the overall control of the film producer. They often develop the vision for a film and carry out the vision, deciding how the film should look, in other words they make their vision come to life. They are responsible for turning the script into a sequence of shots. They also direct what tone it should have and what an audience should gain from the cinematic experience. Film directors are responsible for deciding camera angles, lens effects and lighting with the help of the cinematographer and set design with the production designer. They will often take part in hiring the cast and key crew members. They coordinate the actors' moves, or blocking and also may be involved in the writing, financing and editing of a film.
Andrew Stanton (Notable Works {As a Director}: Finding Nemo, Wall-E, John Carter): His work with John Carter is by far an unapparelled achievement in Sci-Fi Filmmaking that is not cherished or recognized for its time. John Carter is a head of it's time {Odd phrasing all things considered} and really for the way Green Lantern Needs to be done, for the way I wrote the script, he would be a perfect fit.

Screenwriter{s}: Screenwriters are responsible for researching the story, developing the narrative, writing the screenplay, and delivering it, in the required format, to Development Executives. Screenwriters therefore have great influence over the creative direction and emotional impact of the screenplay and, arguably, of the finished film. They either pitch original ideas to Producers in the hope that they will be optioned or sold, or screenwriters are commissioned by a producer to create a screenplay from a concept, true story, existing screen work or literary work, such as a novel, poem, play, comic book or short story.
Robert Garlen {Me} (Notable Works: Green Lantern Corps {Fan Script}), Geoff Johns (Notable Works: DC Universe Online {Video Game}, Green Lantern Emerald Knights {Segment "Abin Sur"}, Robot Chicken: DC Comics Special), Andrew Stanton (Notable Works {As a Writer}: Toy Story, Finding Nemo, John Carter): Basically I'm going with my initial script, with revisions done by Johns, then Stanton. First off Geoff Johns is the Green Lantern Guru, he could get some facts rearranged to make it all play along smoothly, maybe touch up the Dialogue, while Andrew Stanton would prepare it properly for a Shooting Script.
The Guardians of the Universe (Height: 3' 5" {Average Height }, Age: Ageless): The Guardians of the Universe evolved on the planet Maltus, and were possibly the first intelligent life forms in the Universe. At this time they were tall grayish blue humanoids with black hair. They became scientists and thinkers, experimenting on the worlds around them.

The Reason Why: I chose this ensemble over one particular actor because I wanted to explore the self individuality of each Guardian. The Guardians are of the same race but are different in looks and demeanor. I always found it lazy casting to cast one person as a representative of the group. Each member here has a powerful voice, both metaphorically and truthfully. These are members who Need to be individualized. Like members of the Supreme Court they have differing opinions among each other. The reason for casting 13 of them was simply because it felt like a good number. All of the Guardians on the list are comic book characters who adorned that title. While there is one or two who were honorary Guardians, I just changed them to by Maltusian like the rest just to keep it together. All in All I think getting these Sci-Fi Legends as the Guardians would be a treat for the fans and for the actors who are entering a new Era of Sci-Fi.

Abin Sur (Height: 6' 1", Age: 50's {Earth Years}): Abin Sur was the Green Lantern of Sector 2814, one of the greatest members of the Green Lantern Corps until his untimely tragic death. His starship crash-landed on the planet Earth, killing him and causing his ring to seek out a replacement. Hal Jordan was deemed most worthy to become his successor, making the first human Green Lantern. Born on the planet Ungara, his best friend was Thaal Sinestro who also married his sister Arin Sur and fathered his niece Soranik. Amon Sur, his son, is a notorious villain.
Ken Watanabe (Height: 6' 0-3/4", Age: 58/59, Notable Works: Batman Begins, The Last Samurai, Inception): Despite the fact he had a notable appearance in Batman Begins, I chose him because I want a memorable, decent actor to play Abin Sur. If Abin Sur is going to give the ring to someone and be talked about like a legend, well it would help if a legend played him. As far as race I figure I would try casting some Aliens who might look similar, {As been Noted, Ungarians and Korugarians have very similar looks} as to break up the idea they're from the same area. With an Actor Like Ken, well it's just good casting. To help him get into the character I would send him to college lectures, especially those concerning literature to match Abin's work as a College Professor.

Thaal Sinestro (Height: 6' 7", Age: 40's {Earth Years}): Thaal Sinestro of the planet Korugar in Sector 1417. Originally known as the greatest member of the Green Lantern Corps ever to wield a ring, he trained many students including Hal Jordan.
Eric Bana (Height: 6' 2-1/2", Age: 44/45, Notable Works: Troy, Munich, Star Trek): In all honesty, he's a great actor. I had a hard time choosing who I wanted, it came down to: Bana, Liev Schreiber, Zachary Quinto, and Michael Fassbender. I chose Bana because his performance in Star Trek. The Way he played Nero and just the deconstruction of his character into a horrid villain. He would be a perfect Choice for Sinestro he would give the character a hint of originality but play the most badass character in the film. I'd have him ride with L.A. Cops on a ride along and I would send him to the British Royal Navy and to Museums and Archaeological digs to get into the character's frame of mind for jobs, and time as a lantern.

Hal Jordan (Height: 6', Age: Early 30's): Hal Jordan is the greatest Green Lantern, an inter-galactic police officer and member of the Green Lantern Corps, chosen by the Guardians of the Universe for his ability to overcome great fear. The strength of his willpower allows him to wield the universe's mightiest weapon, a power ring controlled by his thoughts. In his secret identity he is a test pilot working for Ferris Aircraft where his boss Carol Ferris is also his romantic interest.
Taylor Kitsch (Height: 6', Age: 31/32, Notable Works: Friday Night Lights {T.V. Series, Series Regular} Battleship, John Carter): He was perfect in John Carter, and he helped make Battleship bearable. Casting Taylor is in one way drawing on great performances, but in another taking a huge risk. But perfect characterization I would easily cast him as Hal, I like Pine for it, but I honestly believe Kitsch would do the role 100 times better than Pine ever could. To help him prepare I'd send him to an Air Force Training Camp and Pilot school.
Guy Gardner (Height: 6' 2", Age: 30's-40's): Guy Gardner is a member of the Green Lantern Corps assigned to Earth, known for his brash attitude and machismo. He has also been a member of Justice League International. It is possible that history will determine Gardner to be the greatest Green Lantern of all time, although he is constantly in competition with his fellow Lanterns Hal Jordan, John Stewart and Kyle Rayner.
Michael Rosenbaum (Height: 6', Age: 41/42 Notable Works: Justice League {T.V. Animated Series, Series Regulars}, Smallville {T.V. Series, Series Regular} Breaking In {T.V. Series, Series Regular}): He is by far the Picture perfect Guy Gardner for me. He's perfect, his character in Breaking In has the perfect poise, stance, and voice for Guy, while also having a great long standing relationship with DC. I can't see anyone else in the role. For Mike's preperation I'd send him to a football training camp and an army training camp to really get into the groove of the character as a hot shot.

John Stewart (Height: 6' 2", Age: Early 30's): John Stewart is the third Green Lantern of Earth, formerly a sniper for the U.S. Marines and an architect. His power ring grants him the ability to make energy constructs guided by thought using his willpower. Originally given Green Lantern Corps membership after his predecessor Hal Jordan left the position, he has also shared the planet with his friends and fellow officers Guy Gardner and Kyle Rayner.
Rob Riley (Height: 6' 1-1/2", Age: 32/33, Notable Works: The Trade Off, Law and Order Criminal Intent {Season of 2009, Episode: Faithfully}, The Bourne Legacy): I saw this guy in Bourne Legacy, and as bad as the movie was he stood out to me, I went through looked at some of his earlier works and felt that he is a great actor. I cast him as John because I see Rob Riley as John Stewart, I think he has the stand, the voice, and the intent to play such a great character. To prepare physically I'd send him to a Marine Bootcamp and I'd send him to construction sites and Architecture classes to learn the craft.
Kyle Rayner (Height: 5' 11", Age: 20's): Kyle Rayner is the fourth Green Lantern of Earth, and a powerful member of the Green Lantern Corps serving as an honor guard. Originally given his power ring by Ganthet of the Guardians of the Universe.
Craig Horner (Height: 5' 10-3/4", Age: 29/30, Notable Works: Cyber Girl {T.V. Series, Series Regular}, See No Evil, Legend of the Seeker {T.V. Series, Series Lead}): I've seen this guy here and there, He's really a good actor who's got what it takes to capture the spirit of Kyle. To get him to grove into Kyle's creative mind I would send him to the Kubert School of Art, and send him to an Army bootcamp to learn militarized movements.
Kilowog (Height: 7' 8", Age: 40's-50's {Earth Years}): Kilowog is a high-ranking officer and drill instructor of the Green Lantern Corps, responsible for teaching and mentoring newly recruited Lanterns. The last surviving member of his planet Bolovax Vik, his entire family is deceased. Most distinctively, he refers to all of his trainees as "Poozers." In addition to his service with the Corps.
Thomas Hayden Church (Height: 6', Age: 52/53, Notable Works: Tombstone, Sideways, John Carter): He was phenomenal in John Carter and to be honest i think he deserves redemption from Spider-Man 3. He's a genially good actor and very fit for his age, and an original choice for Kilowog. I would want to film him on stilts and Mo-Cap to get the height of the character and to place him in the ensemble and not in a voice booth. To assist him in preparing for the role I would have him spend time with Drill instructors and High caliber scientists willing to educate him into the finer parts of genetic science.
Tomar-Re (Height: 6', Age: 30's-40's): Tomar-Re was a scientist on the planet Xudar before joining the Green Lantern Corps. He became a pivotal member of the Corps, training new members, like Arisia, and serving in the Honor Guard.
Joel Edgerton (Height: 5' 11", Age: 38/39, Notable Works: Warrior, Star Wars {Franchise}, The Thing {2011}): He's a great actor and i regard him as one of the most talented after watching his great performance in Warrior. He returned to my attention in the Thing where he was the most interesting character of the entire film. With Tomar I would definitely go Make-Up with only a CGI Beak. He's a great actor and would play a very serious and fun Tomar. To prepare him for the role I'd have him work with writers and librarians while also get basic CIA Training to play to the character's skill.
Arisia Rrab (Height: 5' 5", Age: 20's {Earth Years}): Arisia was originally from the planet Graxos IV. Her father, Fentara, served as the Green Lantern of Sector 2815. Eventually, Arisia assumed the role of Green Lantern of her sector as a teenager.
Olivia Thirlby (Height: 5' 4", Age: 26/27, Notable Works: Juno, The Darkest Hour, Dredd): Her beautiful performance in Dredd practically made me beg to cast her in a proper role. I think she would be a great Arisia I think she is talented smart, and could pull off the look perfectly! To prepare her for the role I'd have her attend high caliber math classes and astronomy and astrology lectures.
Salaak (Height: 7' 6", Age: 40's-50's): A famous pessimist and loner, Salaak was a creature of protocol and laws. A veteran Green Lantern, he served in many Corps campaigns over the years.
Barry Pepper (Height: 5' 10", Age: 42/43, Notable Works: The Green Mile, True Grit, Broken City): I'm a fan of Barry. I wasn't sure of who would fit as Salaak. I knew it had to be a unique actor, but also someone who's great with characterization, a key factor in choosing Barry. For preparation I'd probably send him to Computer classes, have him hang out with Tech-Savy people just to learn mannerisms.
Arin Sur (Height: 5' 9" {Estimated}, Age: Unknown): Arin Sur was the sister of Abin Sur, a legendary member of the Green Lantern Corps. Eventually, she fell in love with and became betrothed to her brother's best friend, Thaal Sinestro. They had a child together, who they were forced to give up for adoption, named Soranik Natu. By tragic circumstances Arin somehow died. Her death largely inspired him to sever emotional ties with the world, and stop acknowledging any emotion for anything. She was the only woman he ever loved, and his feelings for her are one of his greatest kept secrets.
Devon Aoki (Height: 5' 5", Age: 30/31, Notable Works: Sin City, DOA: Dead Or Alive, The Mutant Chronicles): a wonderful actress, while the part is a bit one, there is a big potential to expand the role. I definitely have ideas to expand her role and character. Devon Aoki is an amazing actress who i was keen on adding as Arin Sur.
Carol Ferris (Height: 5' 7", Age: 30's): Carol Ferris is the romantic interest of Hal Jordan. Businesswoman and pilot, she is the owner of Ferris Aircraft, taking after her father Carl Ferris.
Jennifer Carpenter (Height: 5' 10", Age: 33/34, Notable Works: Dexter {T.V. Series, Series Regular}, Seeking Justice, Gone): An amazing actress and no longer my Lois Lane, but my Carol Ferris. She is perfect for the role. She has a tough no nonsense demeanor that makes her a prime choice. Jennifer knows how to characterize different roles. She knows how to evolve a performance, how to build a character that's worth giving a damn about.
Carl Ferris (Height: 6' {Estimated}, Age: 60's): Carl Ferris is the founder of Ferris Aircraft. His daughter Carol Ferris is romantic interest to Hal Jordan, the second Green Lantern. Hal's father Martin Jordan worked for Ferris as a test pilot, and Ferris blames himself for the man's death.
Bruce Boxlietner (Height: 6' 2", Age: 62/63, Notable Works: Tron {Franchise}, Babylon 5 {Franchise}, 51): This is just another tribute to Sci-Fi as a genre.Bruce is an awesome actor, he know how to play a sci-fi hero and how to play a smart business man. People all over know him as Alan Bradley and Tron, from the Disney Cult Classic, so i felt it was necessary that I add him as Carl Ferris.
Tom Kalmaku (Height: 5' 7", Age: 30's): Tom "Pieface" Kalmaku is a flight mechanic working at Ferris Aircraft, the assistant to pilot Hal Jordan and confidante to Jordan's alter-ego Green Lantern. Having discovered Hal's Power Battery, he is the first one to learn of his double-identity and often covers for him at work and with others.
Jay Chou (Height: 5' 8", Age: 34, Notable Works: Secret, Slam Dunk, The Green Hornet): I like Chou as an Actor. He gave a great comedic performance, but also gave some hear to Kato in Green Hornet, he was one of few notably great things in an overall bad film.
Karshon The Shark (Height: 6' 2", Age: Unknown): The explosion of an experimental atomic pile bombarded a prowling tiger shark with radiation. Millions of years of evolution occurred in a matter of minutes. The Shark now possessed incredible mental powers, including matter manipulation and powerful energy bolts. With his mind reading ability he absorbed vast knowledge from the people around him. He found he could project fear in anyone he chose. The Shark was still motivated by one driving force, to seek prey. He used his powers to make himself appear more human, and adopted the name "T.S. Smith" to stand for "Tiger Shark."
Dominic Purcell (Height: 6' 2", Age: 40/41, Notable Works: Blade Trinity, Killer Elite, Prison Break {T.V. Series, Series Lead}): He's a popular actor, people use him for various comic book roles, everything from Venom to Morbius to Atrocitus. I think he'd be a fine Atrocitus but he's Also an actor who might not get any of those establishing roles, and I had a character he could fit well enough, physically as well as mentally.
Yokal of Qward (Height: 6' 4", Age: Unknown): A Weaponlord of Qward.
Michael Dorn (Height: 6' 4", Age: 60/61, Notable Works: Star Trek {Franchise}, End of the Road, Mass Effect 2 {Video Game}): Another famous Sci-Fi face, better known to fans as Lt. Worf, I chose Mike, not only because of his sci-fi status, not only because of his past work with DC, but also to add an actor deserving of a Comic Book role, and to add a bit of color to the overall film. No doubt Dorn could do a part like this and get fans coming in.
Nero of Qward (Height: 6' 2", Age: Unknown) A Weaponer of Qward {Semi-Derived of Alexander Nero}.
Clifton Collins Jr. (Height: 5' 8", Age: 42/43, Notable Works: The Perfect Game, Capote, Star Trek): He made a big impression on me in Star Trek. He was a henchmen who stood out and I figured he could do well in a role like this.
Kanjar-Ro (Height: 5' 4", Age: Unknown): Kanjar Ro is the dictator of the planet Dhor in the Antares star system. Dhor is constantly at war with three other Antarean worlds: Alstair ruled by the plantlike Queen Hyathis, Mosteel ruled by the metal skinned Kromm, and Llarr ruled by the lizard like emperor Sayyar.
Jackie Earle Haley (Height: 5' 5", Age: 51/52, Notable Works: Little Children, Watchmen, A Nightmare On Elm Street {2010}): Kanjar-Ro was worked into the script Once i realized i needed a disposable villain that would be present for 2/3rds. Kanjar-Ro was used because I'd rather have used and re-worked a villain from the comics then create a new one and Kanjar-Ro was a great embodiment of what I needed. I wrote the role with Jackie in mind, He's a fantastic actor who sells every performance he's involved with.

Manhunters (Height: 7', Age: None): The Manhunters were the first attempt of the Guardians of the Universe to create an interstellar police force that would combat evil all over the galaxy. Their name and much of their code of behavior was modeled by the Guardians of the Universe on the Manhunters of Ma'aleca'andra (Mars). For thousands of years, they served the Guardians well. However, the Manhunters became obsessed with the act of 'hunting' criminals. Their code, "No Man Escapes The Manhunters", became more important to them than seeing justice done.
Nolan North (Height: 6' 1", Age: 42/43, Notable Works: Uncharted {Franchise}, Star Trek Into Darkness, TMNT): First off this would be another Mo-Cap performance. He's a great voice actor who could give the role a proper robot voice and do a decent Mocap Performance. He was originally cast as on of the Five Inversions but i felt a challenge should be given to him.
Roixaeume (Height: 6' {Estimate} Age: Unknown): A Female Survivor of the Massacre of 666, and a Member of the Five Inversions.
Jeri Ryan (Height: 5' 8", Age: 44/45, Notable Works: Star Trek: Voyager {T.V. Series, Supporting Character}, The Commuters, Mortal Kombat Rebirth): Another wonderful Sci-Fi tribute. I wanted to cast a very good actress as Roixaeume. The only female member of the Five Inversions had to be played by someone notable and well received.
Worz (Height: 5' 5" {Estimated}, Age: Unknown): A short pudgy member of the Five Inversions, and survivor of the Sector 666 massacre.
Armin Shimerman (Height: 5' 6", Age: 63/64, Notable Works: Star Trek Deep Space Nine {T.V. Series, Series Regular}, The Hitcher {1986}, Dropping Evil): He was awesome as Quark in DSN. I used him cause he's an older actor, but still flexible enough to play Worz. He's got the perfect voice for the character as well. No doubt a great choice.
Qull (Height: 5' 8" {Estimated}, Age: Unknown): The Second in Command of Atrocitus' Five Inversions.
Dee Bradley Baker (Height: 5' 10", Age: 50/51, Notable Works: American Dad {T.V. Series, Series Regular}, Superman vs The Elite, Batman Arkham City {Video Game}): I like Dee Bradley He's got a strong voice range, and He's a notable voice in fandom having Played Ra's Al Ghul in Arkham City.
Kultonias (Height: 6' 3" {Estimated}, Age: Unknown}: A long slender Alien with no visible eyes, multiple Mouths. One of the Five Survivors of Sector 666.
Doug Jones (Height: 6' 4", Age: 52/53, Notable Works: Hellboy {Franchise}, Pan's Labyrinth, The Watch): No doubt he is the New Man of a 1000 faces. He's played thousands of different creatures and monsters, casting him in a Green Lantern movie is a smart move, especially if theres other characters he can play.
Atrocitus (Height: 6' 9" {Estimated}, Age: Unknown): Atrocitus is the leader and founder of the Red Lantern Corps, an antagonist to Green Lantern. His power ring is fueled by rage, as his entire family on Ryut was killed by the Guardians' malfunctioning Manhunter androids during the massacre of Sector 666. This has led him to declare revenge on the Guardians, which he intends to accomplish through destroying the Green Lantern Corps.
Djimon Hounsou (Height: 6' 2", Age: 48/49, Notable Works: Gladiator, Blood Diamond, Push): He has been my number one choice for the role for years. I looked over a large category of Fan Casts and I've seen everyone's different choice and I feel like there's a choice no one really tapped into {I could be wrong, i didn't comb every single little fan cast} giving me an opportunity to display my unique choice in the form of Gladiator's Djimon Hounsou. He's a fine actor best known for playing Marvel's Black Panther T.V. Series. I have always felt Djimon had the kind of raw potential for the role. I think he would be magnificent. I have an idea that before Atrocitus should get the red ring that in the films he should always have White or Black colored "Tribal Paint" with the different corps logos and skulls all over it giving him a very "nature/jungle" look that goes with the character's space voodoo magic {sacrifices to see the future} For the tribal designs I'd definitely go Mayan, Haiti, and maybe a bit of Native American to give it an ancient foreign feel which could add to the performance.

Amon Sur (Height: 6' 2" {Estimate}, Age: 30's): Amon Sur, son of the late Green Lantern Corps member Abin Sur, grew up to become the man in charge of the Black Circle crime syndicate. Amon was angry at his deceased father for abandoning him for the Corps and decided to take his anger out on all Green Lanterns.
Lee Byung Hun (Height: 5' 10", Age: 42/43, Notable Works: G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra, I Saw The Devil, Iris): His performance as Storm Shadow was the Immediate Inspiration for Casting him as Amon. He's a wonderful actor who's done pretty well. He might get a lot of flack because he was great in a bad movie, but I genially want to see more of him. I think he'd breath life into the Amon Sur i wrote.
Krona (Height: 3' 5" {Maltusian/Guardian Form} 6' 5" {Enhanced Form} 100' {Godlike Form}): As a member of the immortal Guardians of the Universe, Krona sought to create intergalactic order, believing the only logical way through knowledge. His thirst for understanding consumed him as he implemented perverse experiments to the detriment of the cosmos. Krona’s final procedure caught the attention of his fellow Guardians, whom expelled him from their ranks and imprisoned him in the Anti-Matter universe. Vowing revenge, Krona passionately waits an opportunity to escape.
Ron Perlman (Height: 6' 1", Age: 62/63, Notable Works: Star Trek Nemesis, Sons of Anarchy {T.V. Series, Series Regular}, Hellboy {Franchise}): Ron Perlman is an Actors Actor, I knew i had to have him in this cast. I knew there was someone i needed him to play. Through various versions he was Sinestro, others he was Kilowog, and finally I landed with him as the Main Villain, Krona. He is an Old Sci-Fi star, but not really big for that, I think he could really join the ranks of Other Sci-Fi stars but not really acknowledged as a peer. Ron is a perfect Krona.
This concludes My take on a proper Green Lantern Reboot, Should their be a Sequel? Sound Off below!
