We know a few things about the upcoming EPIC of the 2012 starring America's greatest hero; SUPERMAN.
We know that David Goyer and Jonathan Nolan are writing it, we know that Christopher Nolan, his wife Emma Thomas and Deborah Snyder will produce it and the most visually gifted, in my opinion, director in Hollywood will direct it in Zach Snyder. Now, let's talk about casting...
Superman is the first American superhero. He made his debut in June of 1938 starring in Action Comics# 1 and took a nest in our hearts as the greatest hero the world has ever known. The character has been revamped, rebooted and re-done countless times to represent the champion the world is looking for. Superman is the last son of a dying world named Krypton. Sent to Earth by his parents to give him a better life and a chance at survival, Superman was found by two humble, honest, god-fearing farmers who taught him right from wrong and all about the finer qualities of humanity. After coming of age, young Clark Kent set off into the world looking for his place in life until he came to find a home in the city of Metropolis. There, he found a job at the Daily Planet where he would meet the love of his life--Lois Lane--his best friend--Jimmy Olsen--and a few more influential people in his life. It is also here that he meets his arch-nemisis Lex Luthor and where Mr. Kent would find his meaning in life. He was sent to us to save us from our selves. To be s shinning beckon of hope in the darkest, most cynical of days. After all, if a (stranger visitor from another world) can be a great human being, what's to stop us from being even better? Wearing the cloths that his mother wrapped around him to keep him warm in the harsh cold of Space, Clark Kent becomes Superman and saves the world that he has come to call home all while staying true to the values that his adoptive values that his foster parents--The Kents--taught him. HE WILL NOT KILL, HE WILL ALWAYS LOOK FOR THE GOOD IN EVEN THE MOST VILE OF VILLAINS BECAUSE HE WAS TAUGHT THAT THERE IS SOME GOOD IN EVERYONE AND HIS SUIT WILL STAY THE SAME BECAUSE HE WANTS TO MAKE HIS MOM, who made it for him, PROUD.
Superman, Clark Kent, Kal-El
Cast choice: HENRY CAVILL
Notable work: Tudors

The guy is the right choice. He's 6'1, sure, but Superman is only 6'3/6'4. Give him 2 inch lifts and we're in business. He's a relative unknown, by that I mean that if you walked down the street and asked someone who Henry Cavill is I doubt they can name a Cavill movie.
understudies:
Joe Manganiello
Jon Hamm
Armie Hammer
Tom Welling
Harmon Walsh
Lex Luthor
Cast choice: JON HAMM
Notable work: Mad Men and The Town
Jon Hamm was my choice for Superman, but he doesn't want the role. He wants to play a fractured character and Lex Luthor is as fractured as it gets. Hamm has the presence to bring an epic performance the likes of which we've not yet seen in a comicbook movie. Yes, even better than Ledger's Joker.
Understudies:
Eric Bana
Zachary Quinto
Sam Worthington
Lois Lane
Cast choice: Courtney Ford
Notable work: Dexter
She played Christine Hill on Dexter and that was as Lois Lane a character as it gets. She's an outstanding actress who commanded the screen on Dexter, a show filled with good actors and she shined. I have full faith in her to potray a great Lois Lane.
Understudies:
Erica Durance
Olivia Wilde
Anne Hathaway
Jor-El
Cast choice: Liam Nesson
Notable works: Schindler's List, Star Wars episode 1, Batman Begins, Taken, Clash of the Titans
Do I have to explain myself, Jor-El has to be all about the voice. Liam's voice is amazing. I can't think of anyone else to play Jor-El.
Lara Zor-El
Casting choice: Kate Winslet
Notable works: Titanic, Eternal Sunshine, Finding Neverland,
The best actress in Hollywood. I would love to have her play Lois, but that ship has sailed. She's an A list which adds to the movie's appeal.
Jonathan Kent
Casting choice: Ken Jenkins
Notable works: Scrubs
Looks humble, good actor, looks enough like Jonathan Kent.
Martha Kent
Casting choice: Meryl Streep
Notable works: The Devil wears Prada
Considered the best actress in Hollywood by most people, casting Henry Cavill as Supes makes sure that she won't steal the screen from Superman. Superman is as much Martha as it is Kal-El. The relationship between Supes and his mommy needs to be amazing.
Brianiac
CGed with Lawrence Fishburne voice.
Notable works: The Matrix trilogy, Akeela and the Bee, Predator, CSI.
Brainiac has to be suave. His voice has to be amazingly smooth, yet robotic and lifeless. It's Morpheus, his voice was the only thing that made Matrix two and three worth wile.
Dan Turpin
Casting choice: Robert De Niro
Notable works: Taxi Driver, The Goodfellas, A few good men
De Niro is Turpin. Anyone who tries to tell me other wise is misusing their time. De Niro is a great enough actor to potray the Turpin character, but Turpin and De Niro are already similar in their mannerisms.
Maggie Sawyer
Casting choice: Jennifer Carpenter
Notable work: Dexter, Quarantine
I am not a Carpenter fan, but she can do b*tchy cop. Half of what she does on Dexter is be a b*tch, the other is cry. I hate her when she’s being emotional.
Bruno Mannhiem
Casting choice: Javier Bardem
Notable works: No Country for Old Men
Javier was EPIC in No Country. He’ll fit in well with the other exceptional talents I’ve casted for this movie.
Kobe Asuru
Casting choice: Idris Elba
Notable work: RocknRolla, The Office
Idris Elba is an outstanding actor, NUFF SAID!!!
(Jimmy Olsen)
(Casting choice:) (Michael Cera)
Notable works: Superbad, Scott Pilgrim
I hate Jimmy, I hate Michael. Michael reminds me of Jimmy.
(Perry White)
(Casting choice:) (Michael Douglas)
Notable works: Wall Street, Basic Instinct
An outstanding actor and would also add to the talent tha I've already casted in this movie.
(Cat Grant)
(Casting choice:) (Carmen Electra)
Notable works: WHO CARES!!!
Cat Grant has to be blonde, hot and have really huge fake boobs. Carmen is a check, check, double check.
(General Sam Lane)
(Casting choice:) (Stephen Lang)
Notable works: Avatar
It was either him or R.Lee Ermey. I like both, but I think Lang can bring more to the character.
(Amanda Waller)
(Casting choice:) (Angela Bassett)
Notable works: Green Lantern, Malcolm X, Boyz N the Hood, Meet the Robinsons
We're looking for continuity. Angela is a good enough actress, although, she's too slim and, in my opinion, too attractive to play Amanda.
(Mercy Graves)
(Casting choice:) (Brittany Daniel)
Notable works: White Chicks, The Game
Mercy is also Lex's bodyguard. She can't look super skinny or super-feminine.Brittany is a good enough actress to carry the role.
Thank you, MrDCUniverse for this great teaser poster.
