Robert Garlen's: Old Man Logan Fan Cast

Robert Garlen's: Old Man Logan Fan Cast

My take on a feature film based on the graphic novel by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven.

Notes: I didn't cast the supervillains or X-Men from the night the heroes fell scene, while they play a major role in the plot, and i did cast lesser known characters featured in the book, their appearance wasn't grand enough, and simply for a film, could be exposition, motion comic-ed, or C.G-IED {which considering their illusions from Mysterio would actually have some merit to the idea}

Composer: A film score (also sometimes called background music or incidental music) is original music written specifically to accompany a film. The score forms part of the film's soundtrack, which also usually includes dialogue and sound effects, and comprises a number of orchestral, instrumental or choral pieces called cues which are timed to begin and end at specific points during the film in order to enhance the dramatic narrative and the emotional impact of the scene in question. Scores are written by one or more composers, under the guidance of the film's director and/or producer, and are then usually performed by an ensemble of musicians – most often comprising an orchestra or band, instrumental soloists, and choir or vocalists – and recorded by a sound engineer.

Ennio Morricone [Notable Works: Dollars Trilogy, Two Mules for Sister Sarah, The Mission]: His legendary work on the Dollars Trilogy is the prime reason he'd be perfect to score the film. He not only can capture the Western tone of the book, but the dark characterization and the feeling of the optimistic ending of the graphic novel.

Director: Directors are responsible for overseeing creative aspects of a film under the overall control of the film producer. They often develop the vision for a film and carry out the vision, deciding how the film should look, in other words they make their vision come to life. They are responsible for turning the script into a sequence of shots. They also direct what tone it should have and what an audience should gain from the cinematic experience. Film directors are responsible for deciding camera angles, lens effects and lighting with the help of the cinematographer and set design with the production designer. They will often take part in hiring the cast and key crew members. They coordinate the actors' moves, or blocking and also may be involved in the writing, financing and editing of a film.

Matthew Vaughn [Notable Works: Layer Cake, Kick-Ass, X-Men First Class]: He's already had a dab into the X-Men universe and has directed dark character driven films. He has a familiar relationship with Mark Millar and so he became my top candidate for the film.

Screenplay: Screenwriters are responsible for researching the story, developing the narrative, writing the screenplay, and delivering it, in the required format, to Development Executives. Screenwriters therefore have great influence over the creative direction and emotional impact of the screenplay and, arguably, of the finished film. They either pitch original ideas to Producers in the hope that they will be optioned or sold, or screenwriters are commissioned by a producer to create a screenplay from a concept, true story, existing screen work or literary work, such as a novel, poem, play, comic book or short story.

Matthew Vaughn & Jane Goldman [Notable Works: Stardust, Kick-Ass, X-Men First Class]: Not only are they familiar with the X-Verse but they have wonderfully adapted Mark Millar's words for Kick-Ass. They're great writers who know the writer of the graphic novel.

Logan [Height: 5' 3", Age: Unknown {Subject looks like a man in his 60's}: Titular character, Old Man Logan's adventure begins once he agree's to join Hawkeye on a cross country delivery telling his story along the way. Doing the job only so he can pay his Rent to the Hulk Gang.

Michael Rooker [Height: 5' 10", Age: 58, Notable Works: Walking Dead, Mallrats, Henry]: Michael Rooker not only is the spitting image of McNiven's Old Man Logan, but he's got the right age to play the character, the voice, and in all honesty could play the heroic scared persona of Logan from the Book. I think Rooker would be a great but very unexpected choice.

Maureen Logan: Logan's loving wife, worried about his trek across Amerika, but just as desperate to pay the Hulk Gang as Logan.

Uma Thurman [Height: 5' 11", Age: 43, Notable Works: Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Gattaca]: She's a lovely actress and really captures the beauty Maureen has in the novel. It's not a huge role in the story but it's an important one, and Maureen is a character that must be given respectful attention when it comes to casting.

Scott Logan: Logan's son, a young hot head who is also a trained mechanic.

Joel Courtney [Height: 5' 9", Age: 17, Notable Works: Super 8, Rogue, The Between]: He's a fine young actor who could use the geek cred and strength of a comic book movie under his belt.

Jade Logan : Logan's loving daughter, questioning Logan's past, loves her father dearly.

Madison Lintz [Height: 5' 7", Age: Unknown, Notable Works: The Walking Dead, After, Parental Guidance]: She's a decent young actress who has done the Walking Dead same as Rooker, despite them never sharing screen time i feel that they could have great chemistry for a father/daughter relationship as they both appeared on the hit series.

Clint Barton/Hawkeye [Height: 6' 3", Age: Unknown {Looks to be in his 70's}]: Former Avenger, now a blind old man rumored to be running drugs. Paying Logan for a journey across Amerika in attempt to raise a rebellion against the Villain control.

Woody Harrelson [Height: 5' 10", Age: 51, Notable Works: Cowboy Way, Zombieland, Seven Psycopaths]: I find Harrelson to be a fun actor to watch, Personally I think he'd nail the role, now he is a bit young, but make-up is wondrous and he could definitely pull of the type of Hawkeye that appears in Old Man Logan. Despite being the same height as Rooker {add lifts, he's taller, easy} he is, who I feel, the right guy for the job.

Abraham Donovan: Neighbor to the Logan's, offers condolences to Logan once his family is murdered, attempts to keep Logan from revenge.

James Remar [Height: 5' 10", Age: 59, Notable Works: Dexter {T.V. Series}, Django Unchained, Mortal Kombat Annihilation]: I'm a huge fan of James Remar. He's a great actor and does well in every performance he ever gives. I love giving him tiny roles in CBM casts.

Ultron 8: Stepfather to Ashley Barton, a form of Ultron re-modified {possibly by Tonya} to be a Husband and father.

Jeffrey Combs [Height: 5' 7", Age: 58, Notable Works: Re-Animator, Doctor Mordo, The Frieghtners]: I love Combs as an actor. He is famous for playing Dr. Jonathan Crane in Batman the Animated Series, and well he was simply perfect. As for him as Ultron, I think he could play the casual person Ultron appears in this story.

Tonya Barton-Parker: Hawkeye's third Ex wife, Spider-Man's granddaughter, and a mechanical genius having assisted Hawkeye in souping up the Spider-Mobile.

Octavia Spencer [Height: 5' 2", Age: 43, Notable Works: The Help, Seven Pounds, Fruitivale]: She is primarily known for Comedic works, but i wanted to showcase her dramatic filmography. She's an oscar winning actress who's done very well on the silver screen and i could easily see her in this role.

The Punisher: A vigilante who rises up and takes the moniker of Frank Castle.

Dolph Lundgren [Height: 6' 5", Age: 55, Notable Works: The Punisher, Universal Soldiers, The Expendables]: He played the Punisher in the 80's and i just thought it would be cool to see him in the role again. Even if he isn't Frank Castle.

Daredevil: Another vigilante picking up the moniker of a fallen hero, this one chose Daredevil.

Rex Smith [Height: 6', Age: 57, Notable Works: Trial of the Incredible Hulk]: He was in the infamous Trial of the Incredible Hulk as Matt Murdock and the Daredevil and it would be awesome to see him return to the role just for a small cameo appearance as an Older Daredevil.

The Kingpin: New leader of what used to be Magneto's territory, held up in Iowa, the Kingpin captures Spider-Bitch, Daredevil, and The Punisher, killing the latter two by feeding them to dinosaurs.

Quinton Jackson [Height: 6' 1", Age: 35, Notable Works: Fire With Fire, The Midnight Meat Train, A-Team]: He's really the only person i can clearly picture in this role. He's a great actor who just hasn't been able to really showcase his characterization past a bad script or two, but he's definitely a good actor.

Ashley Barton/Spider-Bitch: Hawkeye's young daughter, and the granddaughter of Spider-Man, who takes a group of vigilante's, who despite being murdered, succeed in her plan to kill Kingpin allowing her to take over his territory.

Raven Symone [Height: 5' 2", Age: 27, Notable Works: That's So Raven, College Road Trip, State of Georgia {T.V. Series}]: She's stuck as a Disney Actress, and has real talent, i considered recasting, but her weightloss and talent just screamed to me. She has a great talent and she just needs a role to jar her image out of the Disney T.V. Star she started.

White Queen: The Wife of Doctor Doom, the world's most powerful psychic. People believed him for having sold out the heroes by marrying Doom, but did so to preserve the Mutant Race.

Nicole Kidman [Height: 5' 11", Age: 46, Notable Works: Batman Forever, The Others, Moulin Rouge]: She is simply perfect, despite being in her 40's she convincingly looks mid-30's and has the Emma Frost feel to her. She is a wonderful actress and would be perfect for the role.

Black Bolt: A member of the White Queen's team of Superpowered mutants protecting the citizen's of Doctor Doom's territory.

Peter Weller [Height: 6', Age: 66, Notable Works: Robocop, Naked Lunch, Star Trek Into Darkness]: This is just a fun sci-fi cameo. He's a wonderful actor that I can honestly say is a true living legend.

Dwight/Ant Man: A young kid who has control of Ant-Man's helmet. Using it to block roads and Ransome tolls.

Adrian Kali-Turner [Height: 4' 9", Age: 16, Notable Works: Walking Dead, Bad Teacher, Camp Fred]: This kid can act, his appearance in The Pilot of Walking Dead was actually a decent performance and has a bright future.

Tobias: An agent of Red Skull's SHIELD. Performing a sting on Hawkeye by spreading rumor of a superhero rebellion to gain access to the super-soldier serum. Tobias then murders Hawkeye and drag's Logan's body to the Red Skull.

Michael Madsen [Height: 6' 2", Age: 55, Notable Works: Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill Vol. 2, Sin City]: Madsen is pretty well known among the film community, a great actor in his own right, and my top pick for Tobias. He's got the right character presence to bring Tobias to life.

Red Skull: The man who organized the world's villains to unite. In charge of Amerika, with New Babylon as his capitol, he lives in the White House where he has a trophy room of Superhero relics and body parts.

Peter Stormare [Height: 6' 2", Age: 59, Notable Works: Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Lockout]: It's not secret that I admire Stormare, he's without a doubt on my top 10 list of greatest actors, and there's reason to it. He can play a multitude of different roles, from batshit crazy to calm and civil. I would be highly intrigued to see his take on Red Skull.

Beau Banner: A child of the Original Hulk who bullies and beats Wolverine as a warning, only to later murder his family.

Ron Perlman [Height: 6' 1", Age: 63, Notable Works: Hellboy, Blade 2, Star Trek Nemesis]: An amazing actor and man. Originally set as My Hawkeye, I changed him to Beau because of his talent and on-screen presence he would be perfect for the role.

Luke Banner: A snotty goth dressed member of the Banner clan who looks to violence for fun and excitement.

Nick Stahl [Height: 5' 10", Age: 33, Notable Works: Terminator Rise of the Machines, Sin City, Bully]: A fine actor, he's really just the person i feel fits the role best.

Bobby-Jo Banner: Bruce Banner's daughter, mother of Baby Bruce Jr. She's a full blow sadist who openly calls Logan "Wolverine" as way of torturing him.

Laurie Holden [Height: 5' 6", Age: 43, Notable Works: The Walking Dead, Silent Hill, The Mist]: She had a great hatred-oriented chemistry on Walking Dead. She's a great actress and works perfectly for the part.

Bruce Banner [Height: 5' 7", Age: Unknown {Subject looks to be in his 80's}]: Now an evil Supervillain, he took the Abomination's territory, formerly known as California. Banner Sends his clan to murder Logan's family while he was away to draw out the Wolverine.

Lance Henriksen [Height: 5' 10", Age: 73, Notable Works: Fringe {T.V. Series}, Aliens, The Terminator]: For this type of evil Bruce Banner, Lance is perfect. He's a sci-fi icon and works on every level for this depiction of Bruce Banner.

As for an additional measure, there is one song i believe would be perfect for the ending of the movie:

While not a fan of the story, I could see these actors working for a movie version. Not a bad assortment.

When you have a minute, check out my latest fancast--it happens to be below this one, AND it uses your fancast format!

As a HUGE Millar fan and Old Man Logan fan I love your cast.

HOWEVER, I'm not entirely sold on Michael Rooker as Logan ONLY cause I know him from The Walking Dead so if this WAS REAL I would have to see a trailer to believe he can do it.

Overall: Great Casting..

- Nice to know that Ennio Morricone is still alive and kicking. And yes, he'd be excellent to score Old Man Logan's soundtrack.
- I think Clint Eastwood would fit the director's chair more than Matthew Vaughn.
- Wonderfully original Wolverine choice!
- I think Uma Thurman would fit the role of Emma Frost a little better. My pick for Maureen would forever be Diane Lane.
- Someone should tell MrBlueSky that Courtney is 17 years old, because he has the actor as Alphonse Elric for a forthcoming Fullmetal Alchemist fancast.
- Not sure if I see Woody Harrelson as Hawkeye. Even in the future, I don't think Hawkeye would have a Southern drawl. Kurt Russell would be my pick, since he resembles an older Jeremy Renner.
- What do you think of Jeffrey DeMunn as Abe Donovan? It's familiar to Dale in The Walking Dead, but he'd really bring impact to a certain integral scene.
- Somehow I consider Method Man as Kingpin. He's usually funny in certain films, but he can be serious in films like Cop Land and the latter Def Jam fighting games.
- Can't really see Raven as a bad-ass. Sorry.
- Robocop as Black Bolt would be pretty amazing.
- Not the most original pick for Red Skull, but Pete did embrace the Wild West atmosphere in The Last Stand, so for now, I'll be happy with it.
- Jim Beaver as Beau Banner. What do you think?
- Well, Nick Stahl did play a serial killer in Sin City, so lucky day, I won't disagree with this pick!
- I wanna see Juliette Lewis or Kristin Wiig as Bobbi-Jo Banner.
- Not sure who I'd see as Banner besides Lance Henricksen.

Great cast all around. Look for a Deadpool cast that's pretty much a remake of my year-old cast, but with more characters (including whoever made a cameo in the video game this year).

Fantastic cast, Rob!
I really, really like what you've done here. The amount of raw talent that each of these actors have could easily bring something really real to each of these characters in a not-so-real world.
Your leading characters (Wolverine especially) are really well casted, and I am impressed with the amount of originality you have brought. I feel like when I see an Old Man Logan cast, we see the same actors each time. You did well avoiding the same actors/actresses for this one.
Great work, really. Keep it up!

The art is amazing and I can see every actor here fitting their roles.

I gotta say that this cast is FANTASTIC!! I have never thought of Michael Rooker for Wolverine before but it is brilliant. People usually choose Mel Gibson or Sylvester Stallone but Rooker would own. The rest of the cast is great. I love your Punisher, and Bruce Banner choices also.
