This is Part 1 of my DCCU. This is all just my imagination of what it would be like if WBs gave me the reins to the DCCU. This will in no way happen other than if they somehow make all the same decisions that I do. More parts will follow. This is how I would make a Martian Manhunter Movie.
Writer and Director – James Cameron
If we really want are Sci-Fi, alien, cgi heavy movie done right this is the man to go to
J’onn J’onzz/ Martian Manhunter – Colin Salmon
He has the right look, age and stature for the character as well as the action ability that this role would require. His British accent seams right for J’onn and his voice is very commanding. He seems so perfect for this role.
Dr Erdel – Edward Norton
He’s a little younger than Dr Erdel traditionally is but he is a very talented actor. A can definitely see him as a weary scientist and he makes a good narrator. He will also be good for the friendlier side I want to develop.
Ma’alefa’ak – Peter Mensah
He is exactly what I want Ma’alefa’ak to look like. He has proven many times that he makes a good villain and could convey the mad and merciless character I would like to see.
The Movie starts in 1994 (no specific reason I just wanted it to be about 20 years ago) and is narrated by Dr Erdel in his diary recording his search for alien life. He has been sending signals out into space in the hope that aliens will receive them and respond. He says something like “I’m not sure what we expected, I’m not sure we expected anything. I had almost accepted that nothing would ever come of it … but he did.”
Cuts to a journalist and his intern driving through Colorado on their way to cover a story about a small town that nearly everyone has moved out of. He is complaining about the dull story. Suddenly they see an object hurtling through the sky and crashing near the town they are on their way to and race towards the town. By the time they get there they ask a man what had hit the ground. He says “No. Who?” They search the area and walk outside the town with a policeman where they see something moving. There is a flash of laser and they run away. Back-up is called and police arrive and search. The police cars are blown up by laser beams so the army are called. Tanks and helicopters arrive and engage the target. Many are also blown up and some of the town’s buildings are destroyed before it disappears.
Dr Erdel finds something the next morning in his garage. He is convinced it is alien so he tries to communicate with it. It communicates with him mentally saying its name is J’onn J’onzz. He knows that Jon is angry and scared so he takes him in. They talk a lot as Dr Erdel tries to help Jon recover the sanity he appears to have lost. As this happens J’onn starts to appear more human.
J’onn tells the story of why he has come to earth this is shown as a scene on Ma'aleca'andra with Jon voicing over. He tells the story of the Burning creatures ruling the planet. They died out but Martians always had a fear of fire. A virus spread that caused the Martians to burst into flames when they thought of fire he remembers his wife and daughter dying. Only J’onn and Ma’alefa’ak survived due to their mental strength. Ma’alefa’ak gets in a ship the planet and without speaking to J’onn so he pursues him until they reach a meteor field. Jon crashes and loses sight of Ma’alefa’ak. He drifts through space before picking up Dr Erdel’s signal and following it. Dr Erdel asks him “do you think that your brother will come looking for you?” and Jon replies “I am certain of it”.
Cuts to Ma’alef’ak landing his spacecraft outside Detroit. As he walks towards the city the army come out to meet him with helicopters and tanks which he easily destroys. He makes his way to the city and begins to cause chaos. J’onn senses his presence and sees the tv so goes to confront him. He tells him to stop and that the humans are good people. Ma’alefa’ak says he only wanted J’onn’s attention. Dr Erdel arrives in his car as the 2 are staring at each other. Dr Erdel asks J’onn if this is his brother and Ma’alefa’ak says I didn’t expect my brother to have made friends so soon and breaks his neck. J’onn tries to hit Ma’alefa’ak and he blocks it saying “this is what I came here for, to fight you”. J’onn shouts “why?” Ma’alefa’ak tells him that he created the virus on Ma’aleca’andra and J’onn attacks him. They fight until they get near a burning building that Ma’alefa’ak destroyed and J’onn goes to push Ma’alefa’ak in. He says “if you push me I’m taking you down to” to which J’onn replies “it’s worth it to kill you” and throws them both in. In the flames they both rive in pain and J’onn has flashbacks of his family dying. He sees his brother burst into flames and stumbles from the fire before collapsing.
He wakes up in a government lab where he is restrained. He breaks his restraints as a doctor walks in the room. He tells him “I wish your people no harm. One day I will repay the damage I have done. Until that day I will walk among you and you will not even know I am here. My race once served as guardians for less powerful planets I will be like them: a Martian Manhunter.” He then flies through the ceiling and away. A paper is shown with the headline: Martian Manhunter invasion in Detroit and camera zooms in in on words Martian Manhunter then end credits role.
