So then...it's come to this, a Wonder Woman or Amazonian movie is in the works, so to speak.
Well a Green Arrow movie was in the works too and that made it, so its quite possible this will get off the ground as well.
This is a revamped idea of what I think a show adaptation of Wonder Woman, princess of the Amazons should be like.
The premise would be that Ares lost in a battle against the Gods due to the resolve of the Amazons who were then charged by Zeus to watch over and guard his imprisoned essence as he cannot fully die.
Diana is ridiculed as she grows older for wanting to venture out to the world of man, because she believes that much in fairness and that assumptions are deadly things to make about any people or kind.
Ares' essence makes astrial contact with a Sorcerer named Felix Faust who causes Air Force pilot, Steve Trevor, to find and crash on the Island of Themyscira.
With the seal broken, and another form of Magic allowed to be used on the Island from the outside world, Faust aids Ares with the ability to summon the fallen Minotaur's from previous battles in the old grave yard.
The Jet (which Trevors) ejected from as he has no more control over it, fires its weapons and crashes itself into the stone tomb of a prison for Ares, allowing him to escape.
Meanwhile Trevor attempts to protect Dianna who he finds about to combat the undead beasts. She's impressed by how a weak man (by comparison to her) he still tried to protect her, surely he is an honorable man.
It is obviously believed that Trevor is an agent of Ares, for his "device" released Ares, knowing exactly where it was, what explanation could there be? Other then maybe his stupidity as a "man" and their reckless dangerous creations? Either way, he must die for desecrating the sanctity of Themyscira
. Diana defends him, believing him to be telling the truth, and because she feels it so deeply, fights on his behalf, and wins his life.
However, since the jet incident and ares escape resulted in the death of an Amazonian guard, someone must be held to pay for it. Not being able to kill her own daughter, Dianna is banished by her Queen mother with Trevor back to the human world on the fools errand of finding and recapturing/defeating Ares essence before he finds a way to regain his full god like form, (which for now has taken the shape of a war-mongering general/guerrilla mercenary, which ever helps empower his human form with hate and malice.)
Essentially its "Sorry but, now the human worlds in danger from him. He can't get us here, he's not powerful enough, but he'll eat the mortal world alive if it has no protector so...now thats you like it or not. Bye."
So now Diana with the help of Trevor, her mother from a far, and other friends along the way, have to find/foil Ares...and also along the way the crime boss "Angleman."
She learns perhaps her destiny lies in protecting humanity, and evading the wiles of her "claimed to be" father Hades, who wants her to live up to HIS vision of her destiny to rule and be worshiped with a blurred line of right and wrong at his side.
To play Diana, princess of the Amazons and Wonder Woman, I choose Missy Peregrym, physically capable and limber as well, and a good actress, and could lead/carry the show if written well.
Her angle at defending humanity wouldn't JUST be the typical "Oh look at these filthy humans...and these...FILTHY men....so dumb and dull, so weak.."
No she sees their firemen, soldiers, police, doctors, both men and women, all who will die in their very short lives most likely due to what they do, but still persist. Truly they are creatures of honor, that must be fought for in a war they don't hope to win.
For Steven Trevor the Air Force pilot, I choose Tyler Hoechlin
For Hades, I choose LOST's Nestor Carbonell, looking more suave then villainous.
he'd throw the angle of being her indirect father to mess with Diana's head well.
He could also have the plot spin of being believed eventually to be the one who leaked how to contact Ares to faust, seeing the Fate (future) of Diana due to the fates and seeing that she'd be cast out by her mother with the intent of moving in to rear her up as his chosen one rather then hers. It could be revealed that he didn't leak the secret of contacting Ares to Felix, but he did know OF it and did nothing.
To play her mother and Queen of the Amazons I select Lynda Carter as Hippolyta
For the War god Ares, trapped in our world, masquerading as a human and trying to gain whats needed to re-obtain his god-like form, I choose Peter Mensah from 300
For Diana's man-hating rival Aresia (whose background is revealed further in the show) I choose Katee Sackhoff
For the meddling Ares kiss-upping sorcerer Felix Faust
I choose Julian Sands, come on he looks the role, he sounds the role, he's Felix
For Cheetah: I choose Phoebe Tonkin
Her character will be the Daughter of Archaeologist who befriends Diana for some of the season and helps her realize how "impure" her own gender can be by her reputable way of living (Such as using Amazonian mystical artifacts to help her steal more for the thrill of it, and to spite her mother).
One of them which gives her unnatural powers of the "speckled cat" or Cheetah which she uses to counter Diana when she tries to prevent her from killing a witness. This bout ends with her breaking the object of magic by accident causing Cheetah to be stuck as "Cheetah" forever, always doomed to morph back to her animal form, and she will instead half to concentrate to look normal rather then be cheetah.
Those are the main ones in W/W's rogues gallery, others she could meet, cameo or no, would be crime boss Angleman
I choose James Frain who wont have super powers other then his newist in the line of weaponry he's made from Themyscirian magic he's obtained from digs(performed by Cheetah's mother) and this weapon can bend peoples perception so that nothing is right side up or in proportion throwing off their equilibrium. With the magic properties of some of the dig finds, he hopes to bend portals to other places on the planet.
He also hires hit men to help in his weapons dealery (which leads up to Ares later on) hit men like
Giganta- Rachelle Lefevre, (Could be overzealous Air force major who helps test a weapon specialized by Ares, again with magic involved giving her the ability to be a titan or grow to enormous size.
Grundy-doesn't matter really who plays him.
OMAC- for the man who becomes the One. Man. Army, I choose Daniel Cudmore
Deathstroke- Ray Parks
Circe- I choose Gabrielle Anwar from Burn Notice, her mischievous nature would be amusing revealing her rivalry with Faust and how she will sometimes leave hints for the heroes to just make him upset in his perfectionist way
As for friends now that foes are done...
Fellow Air Force soldier Etta Candy, Dana Davis
Now, for POSSIBLE super hero cameo's, IF they go the smallville route like they say they will.
For cameo super hero help (that will come GRADUALLY as the show gains seasons mind you)
Black Lightning- Edwin Hodge
Raven- Emily Browning
Elongated man- Matt Dallas from Kyle Xy
Captain Atom- Jason David Frank
Long Shadow- Steven Strait
Wind-Dragon- Aaron Yoo, he has the funny yet heroic personality
, him and Long shadow could come on the show as budies running from Ares' forces wanting to use them for experiments on their inherrit magic ablities
And MAYBE Captain Marvel for one of their more later seasons, *shrugs* David Giuntoli I think would do it well.
and Jordan Fry as him as Billy Batson, (he's the kid who played mike TV in Charlie and the chocolate factory.)
That said and done i thought it would be cool, what do you think?
