FANTASTIC FOUR: Awesome New Image Of 'The Thing' In Action; New Scene And Story Details

Following that big reveal earlier today, Fox has released another image of The Thing (Jamie Bell), and this time he's doing what the character does best...Clobberin'! We also have new comments from director Josh Trank and a description of a scene featuring Sue Storm learning to fly.

Entertainment Weekly paid a visit to the set of Fantastic Four last year and describe a scene featuring Sue Storm - who is quarantined in a government facility alongside her fellow teammates - learning to use her newfound abilities to float. That explains why we saw her flying alongside Johnny Storm in that international trailer then, while other abilities will apparently include turning invisible (well, duh) and projecting force fields. The site also confirms that the foursome will be taking on Doctor Doom. "I just kinda jumped to ‘body horror’ in my head," Trank tells them about his take on the property. "Chronicle is about the evolution and strengthening of unique powers. This movie is really viewing them as a curse." What do you think of this new look at The Thing?

"This movie is really viewing them as a curse."

And that's what I hated about Ultimate FF. That's the X-Men's shtick.

looks good. The Thing got that animatronic (i think it's animatronic) kind of feel that i remember from old fantasy movies. Kinda like the monsters from"The Golden Voyage of Sindbad". I guess.

Holy shit, yes. If Trank would've spoke out and they've promoted the film sooner I would imagine a much more lukewarm reception.

It's clobberin' time!

I like it. Hope they take advantage of him in the trailers. They used to rely on Johnny, but it feels different/right to use Thing this time around.

its cgi, there is no excuse for not making him look like the comic version. This is too jagged and has no clear form. he is not a bunch of rocks stacked as a man, he is a man made of rock. Its better than the first series, but I don't like it at all. No personality........could work when in action though. We shall see

basically i think it's a mix between Ray Harryhausen form of animation and CGI.
