How The FANTASTIC FOUR Can Be Turned Into A Great Film Franchise

As a fan of the Fantastic Four, it has been frustrating to see their films not do their property justice. Well, I have an explanation on how to fix all that!

Hi, I'm IndieKid, and I want to talk about one of my favorite teams in all of comics: The Fantastic Four. The Fantastic Four is responsible for Marvel as we know it today, by establishing the Marvel universe and the Marvel brand from the start. So, it can be a liiiiiiitle frustrating to see such a great property done horribly in the main medium that shapes people's general opinions of comic book properties: movies.

But since anyone reading this most likely knows the problems with the Fantastic Four's representation on film, and how deeply affecting that has been on their reputation, I'll just go straight into the solutions. Or...My solutions. I might say something stupid, but you can tell me in the comments section if I do.

USE JACK KIRBY AS A VISUAL INFLUENCE

For a great Fantastic Four adaptation, I feel like this is an important point to make. Film is mostly a visual medium, and Jack Kirby's art expressed on the big screen would not only fit in as a blockbuster, but it would stand out compared to other superhero blockbusters, as well as capture the essence of the Fantastic Four. This would need a huge budget of course (but it's Disney, so no big deal).

MAKE THE FANTASTIC FOUR FEEL LIKE AN AUTHENTIC FAMILY

This one has largely been neglected by the films, and is the ONE THING that should be done right about them. The core of the Fantastic Four (like the core of the X-Men is belonging) is family, and the real life ups and downs of that. Heck, why do you think they were such a hit when they were created?!

They were the first superhero team to feel like a real family with real people. Well, while we're getting a bunch of big superhero team up action films, a superhero film about a real family would be very refreshing. Also, it would shake up the comic book movie genre, ala Deadpool, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Logan.

MAKE IT ALL AGES

Another great aspect of the Fantastic Four is how appealing it is to all ages. All ages and demographics can relate to, or be entertained by the adventures of Marvel's first family. This would also put butts in seats; talking to you big movie studio who cares about money.

MAKE A WELL-MADE FILM

Because I couldn't help myself but make four points, here is my fourth point: make a well-made film. This is, of course, essential to any film. I just wish for there to be good writing, first and foremost; good acting that improves upon the writing, good directing, good cinematography, and most of all; good characters that audiences can empathize with whether they like them or not. I may detest Doctor Doom's villainous ways, but I FOR DAMN SURE can understand and empathize with him thinking he's right. We all relate to feeling we are right.

Well, that's it? What are your thoughts? Let them be known in the comments section below.
