Tim Blake Nelson On The Chances Of A FANTASTIC FOUR Sequel: "I Think It’s Off The Schedule"
After Josh Trank's Fantastic Four performed horrendously at the box office, making it one of 2015's biggest flops, Tim Blake Nelson (who played Dr. Harvey Allen in the film), spoke on the alleged sequel, and revealed that he doesn't think it's going to happen...
As of today, 20th Century Fox still has plans for a Fantastic Four sequel. Unless something is officially announced in the coming months by the studio, we will lay eyes on a second Fantastic Four film. However, Tim Blake Nelson, who portrayed the film's evil doctor, revealed that he doesn't think they will go forward with the sequel. "I think it’s off the schedule now." Nelson said in a recent interview with Cinema Blend. "I don’t think they’re making one, but I’m not sure."
It would be a very bold move for Fox to green-light this film. And if they did, I wonder if the actors from the first film would reprise their roles. Also, I'm sure you remember what Trank said about the flop via Twitter, "A year ago I had a fantastic version of this. And it would’ve received great reviews. You’ll probably never see it. That’s reality though."
FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
Fantastic Four stars Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara as The Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan as The Human Torch, Jamie Bell as The Thing, and Toby Kebbell as Victor Domashev/Doctor Doom. Directed by Josh Trank and written by Simon Kinberg. What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
