Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett & More Join Andy Serkis' JUNGLE BOOK
We already know that Benedict Cumberbatch will play Shere Khan the tiger, but now the rest of the cast of Warner Bros' adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book have been announced, with Bale, Blanchett, Naomie Harris, Tom Hollander and Eddie Marsan among them.
According to THR, joining Star Trek Into Darkness actor Benedict Cumberbatch (as yet another "Khan") in the Andy Serkis directed Jungle Book: Origins (yes, really) will be: Christian Bale as Begheera the panther, Cate Blanchett as Kaa the python, Naomie Harris as Nisha the wolf, Tom Hollander as Tabaqui the jackal, Eddie Marsan as Vihaan (Nisha's mate), Peter Mullan as the leader of the wolf pack, Akela, and Rohan Chand as Mowgli, the human boy. Serkis will also take on the role of Baloo the bear. The film will employ a mix of motion capture, CG animation and live-action to tell the classic tale -- much like the version Disney are also currently working on with Jon Favreau at the helm. The movie, which has a script by Callie Kloves and will be produced by her father Steve, is expected to hit theaters in October, 2016.
