Deadline is reporting that early tracking for Warner Bros' highly anticipated Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is pointing to an opening weekend in the $65 million to $75 million range, which is a figure that could potentially go much higher once reviews and reactions begin flooding the interwebs along with WB's final marketing push.
The original Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opened to $74.4 million domestically back in 2016 and grossed over $814 million worldwide ($234M domestic; $580M foreign) on its estimated $325 million production budget (including P&A). The Harry Potter spinoff ultimately turned an approximate $165 million profit, which is a massive success that WB is undoubtedly hoping to repeat with the upcoming sequel.
On another note, as the final marketing push begins, Warner Bros. is hosting a number of Fans First Screenings on November 3rd and even more during its Fantastic Fandom early screening event on November 13th, which does seemingly suggest thhe studio is feeling quite bullish about the sequel. Plus, for any fan that attends the latter event, they'll be awarded this exclusive poster that features the entire cast:

At the end of the first film, the powerful dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander. But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise wizards and witches up to rule over all non-magical beings.

In an effort to thwart Grindelwald's plans, Albus Dumbledore enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.
