Since the shocking resolution of A Dance With Dragons, fans have been eagerly awaiting the next, and penultimate, novel in the Song Of Ice And Fire saga. Martin is notorious for taking his sweet time on these books - understandable given the quality and sheer density of each one - but it does leave fans a little impatient. Well now EW have posted a few short lines from the novel, which feature most people's favorite character (and certainly their favorite Lannister), Tyrion.
"Somewhere off in the far distance, a dying man was screaming for his mother. “To horse!” a man was yelling in Ghiscari, in the next camp to the north of the Second Sons. “To horse! To horse!” High and shrill, his voice carried a long way in the morning air, far beyond his own encampment. Tyrion knew just enough Ghiscari to understand the words, but the fear in his voice would have been plain in any tongue. I know how he feels."
Not much there to put things in any kind of context, but the entire chapter from which this paragraph is taken will be posted online next month when Random House launch a large update for George R.R. Martin’s "A World of Ice and Fire" app, which will apparently also include many new characters and location descriptions. How are you guys holding up waiting for this next book? I know I'm not doing so well!
