Robin Hood First Official International Trailer

Robin Hood First Official International Trailer

Here's the trailer for the new Robin Hood by Gladiator Tag Team of Russel Crowe and Ridley Scott!

I've been searching the net for Robin Hood comics so that this trailer could be up here.

Well... well to my surprise DC did publish Robin Hood Comics... Though this movie is definitely not a DC Comic based movie.

Well it still look sweet though... Hoping this is more of Gladiator than Kingdom of Heaven.

-access out. Godspeed and MABUHAY!

meh, I didn't mind kingdom of heaven access, one of the few rolls that I actually like Orlando Bloom in. Although, I do think that Gladiator was superior to koh.

I hope this is good.

Gladiator was one of the most historically inaccurate films ever to see the light of day - not that I didn't like it or anything. Crowe looks too straight to play Robin Hood anyway.

@access - You are correct - Hollywood has a tendency to do what they want with history for the sake of therealizion their vision. Let's just hope we don't see Robin Hood packing heat... I am looking forward to this though. At one point wasn't Crowe going to play the Sheriff of Nottingham as well, or am I completely remembering wrong?

@acces - Yep! Just checked IMDB and under Robin Hood's trivia section it says - "Originally, Russell Crowe was set to play both Robin Hood and Sheriff of Notingham. The idea was dropped." I knew I had heard that! It also says Christian Bale was up for the role of Robin Hood one point...

rosco71 - 12/15/2009, 1:33 AM
well since Robin Hood was really William Wallace's right hand man, sent with 100 men to Sherwood forrest to establish a foothold, this looks also inaccurate but hey, too many people sit and pick at films, you go there to just enjoy the film...which i will do!

I hope it stays true to the original story a bit. I know it's the "real life story" just like they did with king Arthur.

@Spilox

Yeah, it seems like it's gonna be that way doesn't it? I've never heard anything on this but seeing Scott & Crowe team up again will be a delight! :)

Do we really need another Robin Hood movie? The only way they keep it interesting is by adding new things to it. The Cosner version introduced black powder.

I don't think we do need another Hood movie, but this does look pretty good. Ideally they should go the fantasy route like the BBC series did back in the 80's. With Hern the hunter, the witches, demons, stuff like that..its all part of the legend after all.

I like Scott and this film looks better than Costner's but Crowe doesn't sell it to me for some reason. I felt he was perfect for his role in Gladiator but not Hood. Robin is supposed to be idk... less gritty, as a character. He's supposed to be part of a noble home after all. Not a hardened veteran warrior IMO. I know he's supposed to have fought in the cruisades and all but he's not supposed to have made a profession out of it, no? And Blanchet REALLY is misscasted as Maid Marianne. She should have played "Latrine" LOL :P

Hood's a role where Sam Worthington would have fit PERFECTLY!!! Not Captain America.
SirExcalibur
SirExcalibur - 12/15/2009, 9:34 AM
@SHHH YES King Arthur is one of my favorites too! Of course Gladiator and I did like Kingdom of Heaven as well. Troy, Pathfinder....13 Warrior is a classic too XD! And of course...Braveheart.

Unless this movie has Kevin Costner (without an accent, WTF?) and a crappy Bryan Adams song, I WILL NOT BE WATCHING. :)

looks good but Robin hood Crowe looks and sounds identical to Maximus Crowe, with a sword and arrow period movie.. seems a little lazy.. change something besides his clothes

Yeah im with Shaman on this one. Crowe doesn't sell it for me, either did the trailer. It was almost like watching a trailer for the second Gladiator. I do see Robin a little more refined strategist. But as we have all come to know, Directors, writers love to put there own twists on characters so we will see how it turns out.
