Sam Worthington Talks AVATAR Sequels And Potential Third CLASH OF THE TITANS Installment
Despite Wrath Of The Titans being relatively successful at the box office last year, star Sam Worthington doesn't think that there will be a third installment in the fantasy franchise. He also comments on the planned Avatar sequels.
Despite mostly negative reviews for both films, Warner Bros.' Clash Of The Titans and Wrath Of The Titans were both successful at the box office. The former grossed over $493M worldwide, while the latter made a lower $302M. Shortly before Wrath was released, writers Dan Mazeau and David Leslie Johnson were hired to write a third installment in the franchise. Since then, no word on the threequel has been heard since. Now, speaking with Collider, Sam Worthington (who plays Perseus in the series) is asked if a third Titans film will be made, and his answer is rather to-the-point. "I don’t think so. I loved working with Ralph [Fiennes] and Liam [Neeson], especially. But, who knows. I’d love to work with those boys again, on something."
Another (potential) franchise for Worthington is Avatar. Despite becoming the highest grossing film of all time in 2010, development on two sequels has been rather slow. He had this to say if he planned on finally beginning filming at the end of the year, as previously stated. "Whatever Jim [Cameron] wants. I talk to Jim quite often. It’s up to him, when he wants to go. No one is going to tell him when to go."
