Hey, ill give it a chance, but it doesnt look up to much. Because im not a big Joe fan though i may be able to enjoy the movie for what it is..but what it is is a Stephen Sommers movie so probably not!

Hey so whats on the video? I can't see this at work...
I saw a tweaked trailer for this while watching Transformers last night.

On the big screen it look...promising...

sigh, but most of the movies this year sort of didnt live up to my expectations.

1. watchmen: gave me what i was thinking...
2. wolverine: sort of left me half limp...
3. star trek: went beyond what i thought ...
4. Terminator Salvation: was about what I expected
5. Transformers: well maybe im still absorbing it...not as good as I hyped myself up to...but i think once i see it on a better screen i will be happy...just not as happy as when i saw the first one.

vonstallin: You know, that's strange that you mention the picture quality on Transformers ROTF?.. I remember watching the movie thinking "Why is the picture so grainy and out of focus?" and "Everything's moving so fast and erratic, I can barely make out what's going on!?".
Maybe I've grown too accustomed to watching films on Blu-Ray or something. Strange.
Aside from that, the movie was entertaining, and chalk-full of nice little nods, and excellent fight scenes with Optimus Prime!
Three thumbs up. ;-)

I watched this Dude as he's talking and I've come to this conclusion:

HE'S A F*CKING LIAR! :P

1 hour and 47 minutes is NOT long enough to tell such a complex story as G.I.JOE! Granted, it'll be fast-paced and action packed but a good story is what's important to me. Something tells me this story is just gonna be crammed. :(

Merinator- You got 1 hour and 47 minutes filled with Wayan humour, accelerator suits that make you look like a constipated astronaut more than anything else and green nanobots eating the Eifle Tower... I think the plot is shot right out the [frick]ing window here. Why Bay didn't jump at the chance to lay more Boom Boom Pow on us is beyond comprehension.

SpiderMan209- I'd bet you 10$ on the fact that it won't if i didn't already vow to not involve any money in regards to this film, in any way shape or form.

Teabag- Blow Joe Bobo Blow...

I hate it when reality makes me look like a nay sayer but... i waited for the trailer as i did for The Last Airbender and Dragonball and i was disapointed. No matter how many trailers they put out, it still looks like shit. I'm not gonna go waste hopes and dreams on the slim possibility that it could be good. I'll wait for your review, Roar LOL :P

Com'on guys it is G.I.JOE..... A childhood cartoon/toys/ cartoon movie/stuff....

I believe it will do well and i think they might just make another one... Plus of course Wayne's will have some humor almost every action flick out there has it now....

I really have some hope for this movie, how can I explain it? The Eiffel Tower eated by nanobots is shit, but perhaps all the rest has a decent spy plot in James Bond style or something else worth watching...

When ask today about it...I told them It was hard to make out wtf was going on...just way to fast and since damn near everyone is dark grey/silver with hits of color I just sad that the great fight scenes were blured and a little bit too much shaky cam.

Anyway wont spoil it in a GI Joe thread... but I had to sit in the second row and pan left to right most of the movie because its the 2nd largest screen on the east coast. but that close it look like a grainy film made in the early 90's.

thegreek- You see, this is why i wait till the trailer without preconceived notions. The trailer's job is supposed to sell you the idea that this film is going to be good. Or else, why bother paying for trailers to go on TV and on the web? So far, they have failled as much as Dragonchunks did where as Sham's Avatar is actually succeeding. That is saying alot seeing how Sham hasn't done a decent film in almost 10 years. So i'm not a preprogrammed hater, i just let the procucers do they're jobs. Gi Joe's producers should be fired!!!

Well let's see...

I did say there were green nanobots eating the Eifel Tower... then... then there was the uh... the uh, lame ass accelerator suits... and yes, i was right, Marlon Wayans IS in this movie.

Did i leave anything out??? Hell, do i even need to add anything??? This movie's trailers are ridiculous. It looks worse than Elektra!!!

i have to agree with Shaman, I don't think I've ever been turned off more to a movie then I am with gi joe. No matter how bad the movie actually is the trailers are usually good...but with gi joe it just seems weak. It's all about the demographic they are trying to sell this movie to, they want you to believe that it's an awesome action movie like transformers, but the material they are displaying makes it look like a kids movie like spy kids or zoom. If they were to market this movie to that kind of audience I would have no problem with its weak plot and corny dialogue, however since they are marketing to an older audience it must meet a higher quality of standards...which it doesnt seem to do. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong, but I'm 2 for 2 with street fighter and dbz.

thwhtknight- 2 for 2 in my book too!!! And honest to god, i was willing to let the first trailer slide after seeing Baroness's cleavage but even that can't excuse the rest of the shit they put out. So unless someone credible like IonParalax, Roar, TheMyth, Adamant or Howlett gives me a review saying that the trailers showed nothing of what the core of the movie was, i'll be 3 for 3.

I have a scary feeling that we are seeing the best parts in the trailers....

I hope not.

That Storm Shadow outfit in Grif's video is my favorite look for him...maybe in the second film.

I can live with storm shadows current outfit because he needs to blend in while walking the streets then be able to go into ninja mode...its a good combo.

I remember in the comics when storm shadow had the "Urban" camoflage...i use to go ..right...if i saw him in the streets for real I would be suspicious of him, lol.

I have to say I agree with those who say that they've been turned off by the trailer(s) for this movie. The more I see, the less excited and more worried I become. I'm hoping that the interractions between Snake Eyes and Stormshadow are enough to carry me through, but why would I go watch a GI Joe movie JUST for Snake Eyes?!
They should have left the accelerator suit plotline completely out of this film. As far as the green slime (nanobots), I'm less offended at the implication, as most of the series in the past dealt with Cobra trying one form of biological/chemical warfare or another against the general populace. (Take the spores from the animated movie, for example.)
I hope my gut instinct on this is wrong.
