There's been quite a few tidbits and minor updates for The CW's Arrow in the last couple of days. Here's a rundown of what you need to know:
Over at E! Online, executive producer Marc Guggenheim teased this for the finale. Read his statement carefully. "If everything goes according to plan, that's a caveat, you'll see some familiar faces in the finale. Maybe ones that you're not expecting." Hmm, not a familiar face but familiar faces. It's long been revealed that Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) is still alive and that he factors into the show's season finale plans in some capacity. But here, Guggenheim implies there's more than one familiar face returning for the finale. Given the shows prediliction for ressuretion, might another Merlyn also be returning?
Over at TV Fanatic we have some minor updates on The Flash cameos from the last ep, Killer Frost (
Danielle Panabaker) and Vibe (Carlos Valdes). It seems that despite their improtant role in developing a cure for the Mirakuru, they wont be showing up again this season.
In an interesting bit of trivia, executive producer Andrew Kresiberg revealed that in a very early draft of season 2, Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) was originally going to suit up as Ravager, not Black Canary. Given the final moment of the last episode we now know where the concept of Ravager is headed and it's certainly not in that direction. It seems this change in philosophy came during mid-shooting and was the reason why Isable Rochev (Summer Glau) was absent for a bulk of episodes as producers and writers tried to figure out a direction for Glau's character. "Part of the reason Isabel disappeared for awhile was we still weren’t sure which way to go whether she should be an ally or a villain and we’d kind of written it where it could turn out either way."
Also,
Kreisberg states that if you rewatch last Wednesday's episode and pause the scene where Deathstroke (Manu Bennett) is in the S.T.A.R. Labs cage, as an easter egg, you can spot Dr. Lights gun.

"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine."
