FIRESTORM Supporting Character Felicity Smoak Joins ARROW

The list of DC characters appearing on CW's ARROW keeps getting bigger and bigger. Firestorm's stepmom will reportedly appear on the show in a recurring role, portrayed by newcomer Emily Bett Rickards.

The Green Arrow show on CW is gathering an interesting and diverse cast of DC Comics characters to join the Emerald Archer (Stephen Amell) in his first solo television show. This time it's DC supporting character Felecity Smoak, (Emily Bett Rickards) who is the stepmom of Firestorm [well one-half anyway] that's been added to the cast.

Smoak is married to Ed Raymond, who is the father of high schooler Ronnie Raymond, who constitutes one-half of the Firestorm entity with physicist Martin Stein. The character is set to appear in Episode 3, which is also confirmed to be Deadshot's (Michael Rowe) debut as well.

The showrunners for Arrow have previously stated that there won't be any super-powered heroes or villains appearing on the show so don't expect to see Firestorm show up on your television screen. With Green Arrow himself just starting out in the superhero biz, we might expect to see a prepubescent Ronnie in the episode as a fun Easter Egg to all the DC Comics fans watching.

That's so random. Nice catch though!

Can't see how Firestorm would work in that kind of show, but cool!

That's an obscure character. She appeared for about 5 years from '85-'89 and wasn't seen again until 2 issues in 2005 and hasn't appeared since.

I'd be interested to know why they chose that particular character. She's a businesswoman, so I can see how she fits into Oliver's world, but there has got to be some existing Green Arrow businesswomen.

Anyway, looking forward to it.

Please [frick]ing tell me Deathstroke will physically appear (and not just his mask)

He can be skewed slightly to fit in with the realistic theme of the show. Instead of him having his heightened abilities- precog and healing factor, just make him a highly trained mercenary with no actual suped up reflexes like in the comics.

I hope it doesn't turned out like smallville because its CW which well known for their female/teenage aimed shows

if anything it should be like Supranatural

An interesting cast of DC characters being added to Arrow. Will make it an interesting show to watch and see if it progresses to clashes with other DC characters , heroes and villains.

I'm a huge Firestorm fan. In fact, I run the FIRESTORM FAN site. So I may be a bit biased, but I'm really interested to see where they are taking Felicity Smoak. Her original role in the comic series was as a computer expert/executive. So I'm guessing she'll serve in some sort of similar capacity on this show, why else go to the trouble of digging out such an obscure character.

While I doubt we'll see Firestorm or even Ronnie Raymond, we might see investigative journalist Ed Raymond. In the comics, Ed and Felicity eventually married (second marriage for Ed, bringing with him Ronnie his teenage son).

Looking forward to this!
