E! News has revealed that Navid Negahban - who is perhaps best known for starring in the likes of 24 and Homeland - will play 'Al-Owal' in the fifth episode of season two of Arrow. According to the site, "Awwal isn't just your average foe as he has major ties to a group of baddies DC Comics fans know very well, which also connects him to Malcolm Merlyn...Meticulous, driven, and deadly, Al-Owal, whose name in Arabic means "The First," is after someone very close to Oliver. Oh, and the man knows how to handle a scimitar." That's an intriguing description, and it should be interesting to see how Negahban character will fit into the possible (and rumoured) introduction of Ra's Al Ghul's League of Assassins. I really hope he isn't Ra's and is instead a different DC character. I like the character Ra's, but we just saw him in the Batman movies and there are so many other great DC villains that haven't been seen in live action and could be behind things.

I hope they scraped the idea of using Ra's and will use this Al-Owal instead.

If "Green" Arrow doesn't have enough of his own villains and supporting characters, then they should create some.

League of Assasins? Heck yes. Ra's Alghul? Not yet. And probably not ever for Arrow. They should allude to him but not introduce him, he's too big for Arrow in my opinion and we just saw him in Nolan's movies.

I thought there was an embargo on any Batman related characters.

Arrow is a fantastic show, TV doesn't get much better than the episode, "The Odyssey".

Makes sense for Ra's to target Star City. His whole purpose is to restore balance and order to the world and Star City right now seems like a perfect spot for him to execute this.

Hope Season 2 will be great as Season 1 was.

Can't wait. Only problem with this show now is they need to replace this Colton Haynes fella with another dude. His face does not blend in well with this show.
