New Image Of Stephen Amell In ARROW

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he's become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow - a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be - flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle - while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel's father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver's own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine.

Many thanks to Me, My Thoughts, and Richard Armitage for the following scan from Entertainment Weekly.

What the heck is their flippin' aversion in trying to be at least semi-faithful to the damned book?? At least (shockingly enough) the Green Arrow in Smallville wore tinted shades that could work well in the dark and had a voice box modulator to disguise his voice. So far, no mask and no GA gadgetry... whoop-de-freaking-do! How the hell is it hard to do? You can simply cut eyeholes on a piece of green cloth and bam - instant mask!

Guys, his identity was revealed in the comics and on Smallville, so what if he doesn't have a mask or glasses here, it's Ollie Queen, pretty sure he can take care of himself! You want a comic, GO BUY ONE!

Wow what in the [frick] are people complaining about? This looks awesome and I'm dead serious.

Morons...Morons everywhere

ESPECIALLY manofmidgard

Dude, Nolans Bat Movies are by far more accurate than any of Marvels so STFU.

Once Marvel makes a CBM half as good as BB or TDK, then we'll talk

He doesn't wear a mask and he kills people in Mike Grell's run on green arrow so I have no problem with it.

Roscoe182 - 7/3/2012, 4:30 PM
@thewonderer so what run of batman did bane look like the version in the film where he doesnt use venom. or the "bat" hell or even the tumbler ....

accurate is not the word you wanted to use.... so STFU
thewonderer
thewonderer - 7/3/2012, 4:55 PM
@Roscoe

Tell me, what run of Batman is even similar in design to any other for the character of Bane? Banes design changes sporadically so I don't see why it can't here.

Also, Nolans Bane is strong and smart which are the DEFINING features of Bane. Whats important for accuracy with Bane is to nail the ADDICTION of venom, not the literal concept, and Nolan nailed that with the reliance on gas.

Nolans Bat films DIRECTLY obtain HUGE story elements from the great comics. Marvels movies DON'T, They use the same designs and whatnot but when it comes to everything else, its all changes.

In my opinion, designs does not make a movie accurate. Its STORY and NONE of Marvels films take much from them.

@magic8 what?? i don't even.. did you even read my comment im not on about costumes at all.

the wonderer said the batman films are more accurate... that's just untrue. i asked what run of batman did bane wear that mask and NOT use venom .
bonesmcgee
bonesmcgee - 7/3/2012, 5:09 PM
@Roscoe Bane hasn't wore the mask for nearly a decade until the New 52. Also, he's been off Venom for nearly 15 years.
bonesmcgee
bonesmcgee - 7/3/2012, 5:12 PM
Also..the tumbler was inspired by Frank Miller's Batmobile in The Dark Knight Rises. The Batwing didn't exist until Burton's Batman.

My point is this: Comic books are ever changing, and are derivative pieces.

Miller's Batman was gritty, Morrison's Batman was over-the-top. You are too honed onto the visuals to realize that Nolan has kept the spirit of Batman alive and well in the film. Also, he has used obscure characters like Lucius Fox and Falcone.

Roscoe182 - 7/3/2012, 5:19 PM
bane is still fighting his addiction.

i never even mention the story at all and as i said accurate is the wrong word to use and it is.

bonesmcgee - 7/3/2012, 5:26 PM
In any comic adaptation, what is accurate?
Roscoe182
Roscoe182 - 7/3/2012, 5:27 PM
so in the end you agree with the point i was making
bonesmcgee
bonesmcgee - 7/3/2012, 5:27 PM
In the end, who cares?

In theory Green Lantern was faithful to the comic, but it was crap.
bonesmcgee
bonesmcgee - 7/3/2012, 5:35 PM
That being said, I find it humorous that people are first didn't mind Arrow's costume, and now they're complaining. The suit doesn't even look bad; it's understated. Is it great? No, but passable for a CW show.

And how many times has Ollie's costume has changed in the comics.

For years, he went back from his 'Robin Hood hat' look to his 'hooded' look, and now finally he has the Smallville look in the New 52. Just saying.

@Roscoe

Its not untrue in the slightest.

Bane HAS addiction in TDKR, just not the venom which bonesmcgee even confirmed Bane doesn't use in a section of it.

So troll harder, Nolans Bat films ARE more accurate. Deal with it

Roscoe182
Roscoe182 - 7/3/2012, 7:14 PM
hahaha yes it is .. it isn't fact by any means show me any website where it stats that. you cant because its opinion. just like its my opinion that batman is the best hero. its not fact no matter how much i say it is.

its fine you think that but trying to force it on ppl as fact is where i see a problem.

Looks P.C. to me, like a Daniel Jackson (Stargate) version of Green Arrow. But Daniel Jackson is nothing like the Green Arrow we know. They're like fire and ice.
