Will Green ARROW Be Visited By The AMAZON Princess Known As Wonder Woman?

The news about The CW developing a Wonder Woman show was revealed just last week but the Green Arrow camp are already fielding questions about the potential for a crossover.

The executive producer team of Andrew Kinsberg, Marc Guggenheim and Greg Berlanti have been pretty consistent in stating that while virtually the entire roster from DC comics are on the table for cameos, they're grounding Arrow in reality and staying away from fantastical characters like Superman, Green Lantern and.....Wonder Woman. Well, that was before the news story dropped that the CW was developing another super hero origin series but this time focusing on Wonder Woman. Allan Heinberg is currently developing the show which was described as "Wonder Woman as a young, budding superhero, rather than a fully formed defender of liberty." This could all be premature as the CW has only committed to a script at this point but if a show is greenlit a crossover episode seems inevitable.

Said Executive Producer Andrew Kinsberg about the chances of a crossover-
“Our show definitely takes place in a much more realistic world. There’s no superpowers, superheroes and aliens. With Wonder Woman, Diana of Themyscira, there are superpowers. I don’t foresee crossovers but one of the great things about superheroes is that they’re constantly being reimagined. There’s the Adam West and Christopher Nolan versions of Batman and one doesn’t obviate the other. The Lynda Carter version was great and now the CW is hopefully developing another wonderful version that will be a nice compliment to Arrow.”

Arrow star Stephen Amell addresses the crossover potential-
“As long as she doesn’t have superpowers, then we’re good!”

Wonder Woman is a character in desperate need of some mainstream media attention. The coverage on the recent Superman/Wonder Woman kiss in the pages of DC's Justice League series was proof that there's still interest in the character and Warner Bros. would be smart to capitalize by getting their preeminent female super hero on television and/or movie screens before Marvel beats them to the punch with Ms. Marvel or She-Hulk(sorry, Black Widow doesn't have any super powers so she doesn't count). What do you guys think, if 'Amazon' is greenlit would you like to see the shows crossover?

Arrow premiers October 10th on the CW.

Oh god please no!

WB is having difficulty enough to get her film rolling, if this show "adapts" her and [frick]s her up, that'll be it for the amazonian princess.

i like the whole batman begins type take on it, but ifeel like they're seriously limiting their selves by saying "no powers" before the show has officially even started. yeah smallville had its problems but i always looked forward to and enjoyed the cameo episodes.

And for those who say that its no biggie, its just a different version.

No. Aquaman is still suffering from his portrayal in Superfriends 40 years ago. So, if bad enough (which this show seems to be), it could ruin WW's image and make WB reluctant to make her film already.

"As long as she [Wonder Woman] doesn’t have superpowers, then we’re good!" HUH?! So what's the point of having Wonder Woman? Maybe I misinterpreted Stephen Amell's comment.

I think it would make more sense to have Green Arrow cameo on the Wonder Woman show and leave Arrow in his own little non-super powered bubble.

Nah just leave her to her own thing.

I would love it if they adapted her (well) and used the same continuity as the JL movie.

Just introduce sueprheroes, and have Arrow be one of the only non-powered heroes, still continuing his fight for his late father.

It seem that a lot of things happen on the island that everyone doesn't know about. What if Oliver meets Diana on the island before he is rescued and we get to see that encounter in a flashback?

Keep WW in her own show. She's Wonder Woman! she needs to be powered. Don't de power her just so you can crossover in to Arrow.

If this show finds enough viewers to garner multiple seasons it will eventually introduce the mystical, the magical, the alien and super human. Maybe not in the first 2-3 seasons but I think it is inevitable considering the source material. In the end a T.V. show is a business proposition. If the money can be made by enticing more viewers by throwing in a May sweeps event like the historic teaming of Green Arrow and Green Lantern than it will most likely be done. - Show Me The Money! - Just don't expect Batman to show up. The brothers Warner have a strict "No touchy" clause on the Caped Crusader!

I would like to see WW make a cameo on Arrow. Just because she has super powers deosn't mean Marc, and Andrew have to keep her off the show. It would be cool too see a WW/Green Arrow team up.

This just comes off like a complete douche comment. He's the actor...Shut up and read the lines you trained monkey. Let the people with the smarts tell you what to say.

Why does Warner Bros hate there characters so much, do they not care, or are they only concerned with how much they are being paid so they can be raped.

Imagining now that WB is a pimp counting money, while Wonder Women is being dragged away screaming by a fat guy

No offense to the rest of you, but I have to say that Griff has the best comments. Concise and to the point. His posts are actually getting funnier on each story. I'm not sure why, but the fact that he takes the time to post it again and again has started making me laugh out loud.

Keep it up, Griff.

Lose the rights? WB owns DC, flat out and period.

We honestly need to have all the DC character licenses sent back to DC because this is just murder what they're doing.

Not just that they are not keeping up with the original comic story but rather they are just simply taking a dump on the character themselves.

I do agree, don't make the story the exactly like the comics, but don't take all away, obviously some root of the story can still be made believable and appease most audiences.

so DC doesn't own the rights to their characters like marvel studios does

You guys are too harsh. Amell is just saying that he wants to stay true to the idea of a real world setting with non-super powered individuals. No different than what Nolan did with Rahs al Ghul and Bane.

In a world where we're eagerly awaiting for a Justice League movie and a move on away from the realistic approach to comic book characters - we all know that Arrow could've definitely been one of the shows to become part of the Justice League continuity. I mean it's written by the same people who did Green Lantern - oh wait.

Anyways, seriously - if you're going to dick us around like this just come up to us, tell us all the Justice League is never going to happen because every WB director is too chicken to do it.
