I don't want this guy to do any CBMs as he is cursed!

Buried & Safe House are very good!

Just need to stay away from CBMs!

He deserves to be Hal Jordan. He wasn't bad, the script was.

The problem for me with GL was the badguy in the movie, just lots of angry smoke like summat off the Mummy.

Always much preferred him for Flash I think he was miscast as Hal Jordan. Just recast him with Chris Pine or use John Stewart in JL continuity if Reynolds doesn't want to return, the GA are more familiar with that incarnation from the cartoons rather than Martin Campbell's CGI abomination.

i didn't think he was horrible, but no. just no.

WB will need to recast just to wash their hands of this movie. But it's a shame because it gets less credit than it deserves. It came out among Thor, IM2, TDK, and XmenFC, all great movies. The bar was just raised so high that GL seemed worse than it was. If GL had came out in 2007 it would've been much more accepted.

And no, Ryan Reanolds wasn't the problem with the film. The writers and Martin Cambell were.
MightyZeus
MightyZeus - 7/19/2013, 5:24 AM
No. Ryan Reynolds was the problem, along with the screenwriters and the directors. This guy was lousy as 'Hal'. The whole film was just an abomination.

The only good qualities about GL was Mark Strong's performance as Sinestro and Michael Clark Duncan as Kilowog

Hell to the no. Green Lantnern himself is a great superhero with a vast universe and great villains. I can't help it that they raped, stabbed, hang and shot the film! I see Green Lantern return in a JLA film, but definitely not the Ryan Reynolds version.

WB let shitty producers make a shitty film. The cast did their job. Dookie ass Paralax CGI and a soft rock kenny G soundtrack weren't Reynold's fault. They should stick with it for continuity sake. Done right, it could redeem some of this film. They could even use Reynold's Jordon as the brunt of a joke to acknowledged the shitty film with audiences, then, put him on a more badass track like he was originally made for.

Reynolds was good in the role. The problem was the script. Get a better screenwriter, then I'd be on board with Reynolds coming back. In fact, I think I'd prefer it if he came back.

He makes a better Deadpool!
Armie Hammer should be Hal Jordon! He makes a better Hal than a Bruce.

I think there is still massive potential for a Green Lantern franchise based off the first GL movie. No reboot - there is still plenty of directions in which the GL franchise can go for sequels. Perhaps Despero as villain. Unfortunately, it seems as if that potential is going to go unrealised.

He was miscast but he did his best, and he certainly wasn't what ruined the movie (that's down to the writers, director, etc.) but nobody should return from that movie. Green Lantern needs a clean reboot, entire cast change (even Mark Strong), maybe even a new origin story, just to differentiate it as much as possible from that God-awful 2011 film, especially if it's going to be a part of the DC Cinematic Universe and tied to Man Of Steel, because they're so different in terms of both quality and tone.

A very different, more serious take is needed next time around.
