In other news, we've learned that Aaron Sims is the latest name added to the Green Lantern film crew. His work has been featured in CGI-heavy film like The Incredible Hulk,X-Men Origins: Wolverine and the upcoming Clash of the Titans. During last night's red carpet premiere of COFT, MTV NEWS caught up with Sims to discuss his involvement with Martin Campbell's Green Lantern which is currently filming in New Orleans, LA. Though Sims remained tight lipped regarding specific details, he did say this,

"The one thing I can say is that we designed a lot of aliens. I'm excited about the project... The director is incredible. It's going to be a really fun project."

When asked whether he's had a close encounter with the most important, tangible prop for the film, Sims said no. "I wished I touched the ring," he laughed.

So far we've had confirmation that several different aliens will appear in the film. Those are Sinestro, Abin Sur, Kilowog, Tomar Re, the Guardians of the Universe and Salaak. In case you missed seeing them, here are the concept images revealed several months ago that showcase some of the film's key characters:

I hope you don't mind Multi if I add this update on how Aaron Sims sees Martin Campbell approaching GL.

The film's designer, Aaron Sims, tells the Post that "Green Lantern" will have "a hard edge to," perhaps similar to "The Dark Knight." Director Martin Campbell, who made "Casino Royale" has a "really good sense of action," and will "bring his own style to it," Sims says.

I don't get what's with the bubble thing around the guardians' heads. Can't they just give them normal heads.

@Interesting John - I knew about the big heads but still, they shouldn't be transparent like that. Hopefully they get rid of that. I still think they should get midget actors to play them instead of CGI. They're just blue oompa loompas. Keep it simple.

That far left pic is of Abin Sur not Sinestro.

Aaron Sims is a hack, maybe he needs to work on his CGI a bit more... Incredible Hulk AND Wolverine CGI were both really shitty actually. This isn't good news, considering GL will be CGI heavy (has to be) and this guy thinks 1990s CGI looks good in the 2000s apparantly. They better really polish it up before release, last thing we need is GL looking like a Playstation 2 game.

If I am correct, Sinestro's skin is pink and Abin Sur's is red. Changing skin colors between them won't be a good idea afterall.

I think the Creature Workshop owned through Jim Henson can get some alien make-up to the Green Lantern Corps and I think it will be a great idea to see these alien creatures in the Green Lantern corps, go on a mission from space to travel to earth to search for a Human Being can become The Green Lantern. Doug Jones who played "The Silver Surfer" from "F4: Rise of the Silver Surfer" may play Tomar Re and he did a great make-up. John Cena can also play Kilowog too from the WCW

if they keep close to the concept art then the aliens should be pretty cool.
