Stephen Amell Wants Green Lantern In ARROW; "We Are Creating A JUSTICE LEAGUE On TV"

Stephen Amell shares his thoughts on how he believes Arrow and The Flash are slowly assembling the "Justice League of America", while also revealing his desire to bring Green Lantern to the series, how it felt to see his cousin become Firestorm, teaming up with Arsenal and more...

Comic Book Resources have a full recap of Stephen Amell's recent appearance at Fan Expo Canada, and it obviously didn't take long for talk at the panel to turn to the superheroes who are being assembled for Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. "We are creating a Justice League on TV for us," Amell said, seemingly refusing to once again be dragged into discussions about whether or not he'll be joining the DC Cinematic Universe. "I don't think there is a logistical reality to us participating in the feature side. That being said, I never wanted to have to feel like the show was justified, just because we participated in the movie. I don't think my character would participate on the cinematic side. What's that saying? Is it six seasons and a movie? Our show right now has me, Arsenal, Flash. There's going to be Firestorm and Atom. The Justice League elements of it are very present on our shows ['Arrow' and 'The Flash'] already."

That's an interesting way of differentiating DC's TV projects to their movie ones, and not all that dissimilar to "The New 52" Justice League and Justice League of America comic books. Another major superhero addition to this corner of their small screen universe is Robbie Amell as Ronnie Raymond in The Flash. "[Greg Berlanti] told me about Robbie and Firestorm about two months before Robbie knew about it. Robbie texts me and goes, 'I GOT A JOB ON 'THE FLASH!'' All capitals and exclamation marks. I wrote back, 'I know,' and then welcomed him to the Justice League of America. Robbie and I, for being in the same business, the only time we've ever teamed up is in beer pong. We've never actually teamed up on screen together. I think eventually there's a chance that Oliver Queen and Mr. Firestorm may cross paths."

As for how Green Lantern could possibly fit into the actor's "Justice League of America" plans, Amell said: "Now, boy we've referenced Ferris Air a lot. It would be really cool to have Green Lantern. Hopefully, that happens. I have no inside information, unless I do."

Finally, talk turned to some of the other things about season three of Arrow we should look forward to this year, namely the new team of The Arrow and Arsenal. "That is my favorite part about season three so far," Amell revealed. "The relationship between Colton Haynes' character and my character, we're in a really good spot. We're in a big brother/little brother spot. We have been trying to find little moments where I do everything short of giving him a noogie." The actor went on to tease some new combat skills that the vigilante turned hero will be adding to his skill set in present day Starling City and the possibility of Oliver Queen finally getting his own place.
