From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy's fate in the balance.

Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy,” stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, featuring Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. James Gunn is the director and the story is by Nicole Perlman and James Gunn, with screenplay by James Gunn. It releases in U.S. theaters on August 1, 2014.

The perspective in the first pic makes Groot look 'Godzilla' tall.

I actually love the frat one. Hope Groot can expand his size in GOTG 2. Love to see him Hulk Sized or even towering over Hulk

If they went with those designs, kids would be shitting their pants in the theater.

First one looks like halo art! really wish the scale for these movie were bigger they always seemed confined. If they are gonna do set pieces they should make them huge! not little corridors or inside buildings.
Whenever they get bigger its always cgi that fills in the background and that takes me out of it.

The ONLY thing that bothered me about movie Groot (and he was all kinds of FANTASTIC), is that it's going to make the ever-confident WB skittish when it comes time to produce a Swamp Thing movie. See, movie Groot did a lot of things that Swampy does (albeit on a superficial level). Yes, OF COURSE, they are very different. The comic buying fans know this. But to WB's perception of what the average joe saw movie Groot do . . . well. I just hope they're brave enough to push on through (when the time comes of course).

p.s. I hope I didn't old-man-whine too much.

It's a good thing they didn't go the Fallout 3 route...

I like the design they went with for Star Lord but I hope they get some uniforms in the future.

I like that Rocket and Groot had a very simplistic design in the end.

Groot looks way to messy in these. I'm glad the movie differed from these
