James Gunn's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Morag Easter Egg Solved

Recently, James Gunn has brought to attention an easter egg many have overlooked while watching his recent Marvel-centric film. Even though the image is quite cryptic and ancient, I managed to strike a connection to the panel found in the image with the original Marvel mythology that will potentially solve a piece of the puzzle.

 It's no news that the recent Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Guardians of the Galaxy, introduced us to a very large aspect of the universe's cosmic side, giving and ensuring to us the existence of the Infinity Stones, primarily known as the Infinity Gems in the comics. However, recently, director/cowriter of the film, James Gunn, has given us a glimpse of an easter egg that most of us failed to realize; it being a panel on Morag of the Infinity Stones.

 With Marvel having a very vast and deep cosmic aspect to it's universe, narrowing down the options of who these four mysterious beings are would take some time or second guessing. However, I was able to draw connection with this and the cosmic mythology of the comics, coming to a number of conclusions, but very confident in one thus far.

 Just in case you're not much a Marvel Comics reader, I'll break it down to you. In the comics, there are four embodiments, all are siblings. These embodiments are Infinity, Eternity, Oblivion, and Death. The four hold the responsiblity of maintain life, death, tranquility, and entropy in the universal cosmos. With that being said, the embodiment known as Infinity is definitely amongst the Morag panel.

 I feel as though this isn't really questionable. The embodiment of Infinity can indeed be compatible with the likes of the Infinity Stones in this universe. Infinity deals with life, which also, most importantly includes time and space, which are also in the form of Infinity Stones. Infinity has also been known to be born at the beginning of the universe. For more on Infinity, read here.

 However, even though there are four embodiments, I still have my doubts of who the other three beings are on the panel. Many of my other thoughts include the possibility of Kronos and The Champion (Tryco Slatterus), especially since the Marvel Cinematic Universe has a great way of differing itself from the comics in many instances.

I really think the guy in the top right corner is Tryco Slatterus. Maybe it's because I think that's his receding hair behind his head.

Maybe it is just the original four embodiments as seen in the comics.

According to "The Art of Guardians of The Galaxy" book, which I own, they are Entropy, Infinity, Death and Eternity.

@dethpillow

Thanks!

@TheManFromMars

So I just decrypted something that was already decrypted. On the bright side, this can serve as useful information to those lost. And thanks for the information.

@TheManFromMars

I believe the reason why Entropy replaced Oblivion is because Oblivion first appeared in Iceman #3.

   I think Peter Quills Dad is Starhawk!!! Please go back and watch the film. After The Collector tells Carina not to touch the stone she touches it and there's an explosion and something that looks like a Gold Star hits The Collector in the head and makes a clinking sound like metal once it hits the floor. If you take a really close look it looks exactly like the gold star on Starhawks waist. I see the irony in the fact that something flying out at The Collector made him "duck" but he was still hit by it. At the end of the movie he's sitting next to a "duck" with bandages around his head from where the gold "star" hit him. It's possible he wasn't "seen" because he can turn himself into a beam of light and maybe that was him flying around through the sparks and explosions after being released from the glass case. In his backstory he constanly is reborn so it's possible he could have "died" an been "collected". Another thing to note is he was known to have precognition, knowing things before they happen and at times not interfering. Maybe thats why he didn't reveal himself. He's know to be very selfish ,hence the "jackass" quality and he's constantly being reborn and has trouble with keeping consistent memories of people which could cause him to be confused with friends and foes. He comes from an ancient race of people and he is possibly hundreds if not thousands of years old, thus the problem the nova core had recognizing his species. He fits the mothers description of Angel-like because of his "wings" and the "halo" around his head, can generate "luminous" energy, surround himself with blinding light, cast light beams and travel at light speed, mostly all powers dealing with light like his mother said. The other thing I noticed was right after The Collector tells the story of the Celestial that destroyed a planet a face appears in the left circle. It has a purple hue to it and it never explodes nor does the planet. I'm thinking that possibly was the beginning of the character The Ego. I noticed the guy who was placing the order before Drax pulled the blades on him and demanded him to contact Ronan that he mentioned something about Cotati seeds. I know that Mantis has a tight bond with the Cotati. Maybe that'll tie in with the next movie. Just some things to look into. One last thing, when Thanos summons Ronan and Ronan has an argument with and then kills the Other the ground hes standing on looks an awful lot like the Eye of Agamotto. Maybe it has some symbolic meaning. Not sure but just some observations I noticed! The main egg being Starhawk

So, what I believed to be Tryco could be Entropy.

@Superior

Who knows, maybe they'll combine some characters like they did with Whiplash and Crimsom Dynamo, so The Champion could be changed to be one of the Cosmic Entities in the MCU.

Yup, pretty much anything can happen in the MCU.

The top right one may possibly be Mephisto imo.

Anyways, good job with the speculation.
