Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to release on Digital platforms this Friday, and ET has debuted a brief gag-reel featuring fun times on the set of what will most likely be James Gunn's final GOTG movie (if not his last Marvel Studios film, full stop).

The video includes out-takes, line-flubs, and shots of the cast having a laugh as they prepare to shoot their scenes. There are also a few moments that appear to be taken from alternate scenes that didn't end up in the theatrical cut.

Vol. 3 will finish its box office run with a very respectable $835M+ global haul, making it the most profitable comic book movie of the year so far.

Gunn has made it clear that this will be his last Guardians movie, but that doesn't mean a different incarnation of the team won't feature in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point with a new director. In the mid-credits scene, we find out that Rocket is now leading a new crew, and the final title card all-but confirms Chris Pratt's eventual return as "The Legendary Star-Lord."

Check out the gag-reel in the player below.

"In Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere. But it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past." "Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life—a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them."

Gunn writes and directs Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, featuring Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter, and Maria Bakalova. Kevin Feige is the producer and Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Nikolas Korda, Simon Hatt, and Sara Smith serve as executive producers.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now in theaters.

@noahthegrand - Artyom reminding me of several short film "savants" I worked with in college. I bet that person is just an absolute hoot at parties.

Thinking about it, I'd be fine with there being no more GOTG movies, but I'd like it if the team popped up every now and then in other movies if it made sense for the plot.

Also I wonder if the "The Legendary Star-Lord will Return" tease was just for one of the upcoming Avengers movies, or if Chris Pratt is getting the Hugh Jackman treatment and getting a solo spin-off movie or even a Disney Plus show?

If we're seeing him again before Kang Dynasty or Secret Wars then one of those movies would be a good time for a little Guardians reunion.

@AC1 - I know that this would be out of left field, but perhaps "Star-Lord and the Defenders?" He is no Silver Surfer, but not a bad stand-in for 616 Nighthawk.

Star-Lord
Doctor Strange
Valkyrie
Gargoyle
Moondragon

Namor would factor in as a reluctant ally who gets some redemption by the end of the story. There's something there...though I don't think I've quite landed on it yet.

@AC1 - I’m guessing the Star Lord post cred was to tease that he’d still be involved in Avengers related films. And I agree that we could do with out more Guardians movies but it’d be nice to see the new team show up in some cosmic MCU films as cameos or supporting cast.

@TheRose - that could be pretty cool actually, sets up The Defenders as less of a "well oiled machine" like The Avengers and more of a ragtag group of misfits, filling the void left by The Guardians but allowing other characters to fill the cosmic space instead

@slickrickdesigns - yeah in fairness it's probably just an Avengers tease but there's some pretty interesting stuff they could do with the character outside of that

@TheRose - I see three who would vie for leadership at least. Peter, Strange and Moondragon all have a fair amount of arrogance, although Peter shouldn’t be in the running IMHO.

I think Guardians 3 stays our 2nd place finisher for the rest of the year. I thought maybe some of the summer titles may have overtaken it, but nah lol.

Marvels will get close though, that movie is a sleeper hit in the making. The first Captain Marvel making 1.1 billion is nothing to ignore

It wouldn't be for years down the line, and would entirely depend on what happens with these characters, but although Gunn won't be doing another Guardians film I could see him doing another reunion Special Presentation. I highly doubt it, especially right now, but I could certainly see it.

Good movie, just wish they didn’t shoe horn in Warlock. Would’ve been nice to give him an actual purpose in the film.

Not much of a blooper reel but it was funny to see Karen Gillian laugh like that since it is so out of character for Nebula.

I like the idea of the new iteration of Guardians, and we can maybe explore them as a team in an Adam Warlock movie, but I'm fine with not having any more Guardians solo movies.

That said, the title "Return of the Guardians of the Galaxy" flashed in my head, and I'd kind of love it if (assuming they do more of these) they started titling them like pulpy serials.
