GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 TV Spot Has Us Hooked On A Feeling For The MCU's A-Holes

Marvel Studios has released yet another TV spot for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and it's full of action-packed new footage from this final farewell to the team.

Among the highlights are a funny exchange between Star-Lord and his sister Mantis, a fresh look at The High Evolutionary, and a slightly clearer shot of Rocket's one true love, Lady Lylla. The Guardians will likely live on in the MCU, albeit in a much different form now that James Gunn is making the leap to the DCU as DC Studios' co-CEO.

The filmmaker was recently asked if he planned to helm Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 4 before jumping ship (his next project will be Superman: Legacy) and confirmed, "I always meant for the story to stop with Vol 3."

There's nothing wrong with a trilogy, of course, and it's exciting to think where the franchise could go from here.

Watch this latest preview for Gunn's upcoming threequel below.

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.

Gunn writes and directs Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, featuring Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter, and Maria Bakalova.

Kevin Feige is the producer and Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Nikolas Korda, Simon Hatt, and Sara Smith serve as executive producers.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrives in theaters on May 5, 2023.

I know someone who saw the movie, LOVED it and can't wait to see it again but the marketing campaign has been pretty lackluster so far. It just doesn't pop, lots of reused gags and shots... But I'll be there opening day regardless.

I want this to succeed as it will somehow help DC now that Gunn is leading it.

And a bit off topic, was checking out upcoming mcu movies and the writers/directors. I will say that i dont see any team making me excited. For example, for cap 4, the director is the one who made that 3rd cloverfield which sucked and has a 22% rt score. Wtf!

Good luck to the mcu after this one.

@vectorsigma - Agree with the Gunn comment I had faith in Synders DCEU in the beginning like I do Gunn now. After man of steel it was all down hill from there they rushed to keep up with marvel.Marvel had what 22 movies before they blew their load DCEU premature ejaculared after like 3-4movies.Sorry for the crudeness but it the best way I can put it lol.

I think this one’s gonna suprise everyone in a big way. And for once they’re not showing the whole [frick]ing thing in the trailers, so we’ll actually be able to enjoy it without feeling like we’ve seen it already.

Only thing that gives me concern is the villain. The actor does nothing for me, I haven’t found him remotely interesting in anything. He was dull as hell in Peacemaker. So the fact that he’s the main villain here is pretty underwhelming. But I think Gunn will make it work.

There is a timeline where Karen Gillian played MJ in an Amazing 3 movie. I know it.
