While Sony is now on their second attempt at rebooting the beloved Ghostbusters franchise, the first two classic films are getting remastered in 4K Ultra HD.

The new steelbook featuring both Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II will come with a slew of bonus features, previously rare and unreleased deleted scenes, outtakes, cast and director commentary, and more.

The first film will come with six "rare and newly unearthed deleted scenes," including the long-requested Fort Detmerring scenes for which only a tiny portion was actually kept in the final version (you may recall a bit in the montage where Ray is laying in bed and a female ghost is hovering above him).

Also included is a 19484 ShoWest Exhibitor Reel featuring Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd. This clip was initially sent to ShoWest (now known as CinemaCon), a convention where theater owners would gather to get a look at upcoming films to potentially book for their screens. In the 12-minute long clip, which EW posted a snippet from, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd offer quite the sales pitch for Ghostbusters, referring to it as "perhaps the greatest comedy motion picture of all time."

These movies are my childhood, moreso than Star Wars. Well the other ones in there at the top top of my childhood are Raiders, Batman ‘89, and maybe ET

I have the first GB on steelbook. Ironically the digital code I had was for GB2. Gonna wait to see the case before I pull the trigger.
