The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Jason Reitman's upcoming
Ghostbusters sequel has found its star in 12-year-old up-and-comer Mckenna Grace (
Captain Marvel;
Gifted).
She joins a cast that
recently added Carrie Coon (
Avengers: Infinity War), who will play her mother, and Finn Wolfhard (
Stranger Things), who will play her older brother.
While plot details are understandably being kept under heavy lock-and-key, the film will be a direct sequel to Ivan Reitman's original
Ghostbusters films and the story, which was penned by Jason Reitman (
The Front Runner;
Tully) and Gil Kenan (
Monster House), is said to follow four teens as they find themselves up against the paranormal.
Filming is expected to begin this summer and Sony has already slated the film for a July 10, 2020 release date.
