The Hollywood Reporter reports, director Paul Feig ("Bridesmaids," "The Heat") is considering taking on Ghostbusters 3. They caution that "no formal negotiations" have taken place between Feig and Sony Pictures but there appears to be interest from both parties. In fact, their sources went as far as saying Feig is Sony's "first choice."

Bridesmaids and The Heat were hilarious. Paul Feig could be a good pick.

Enough with GB3 Rumors!! this movie is not to get made ever, there's no point in making one if they don't reboot the franchise!

God, as big of a fan as I am of Ghostbusters, I don't know if I'd even want this anymore. Harold Ramos is gone, Murray ' not involved. I'd much rather a series or something. Something done well kinda like the comics, using the first two movies as a jumping off point and continuing with the characters recast with ppl around the age the were then.

Melissa McCarthy as a Ghostbuster, eh?

...Well...if she's Ray's daughter, I'm fine. I guess.

Man, its my all time favorite franchise, but I just think GB3 is not something that should be done anymore. It just saddens me that such an awesome concept has been squandered for so long and now they wanna half ass a sequel with God knows what kind of atrocious modern "comedians" cast as the new blood.

Sigourney Weaver's character Dana Barrett her son Oscar Barrett definitely needs to be in the 3rd film and Oscar needs to be all grown up but also have Oscar join the Ghostbusters team of course but who should play Oscar Barrett?

I rarely rant on this site...

The idea of a future Ghostbusters film or franchise meaning anything to me died the day we lost Harold Ramis. No Ramis, no Reitman, no Murray... No Ghostbusters. This might be appealing to some, but not me (and I love women).

As far as I am concerned, Aykroyd is a great talent and fully entitled to his creative vision... and if this is his vision, then so be it. I can't be sold on it... which sucks, because I would have really enjoyed some of the ideas I have heard kicked around.

I am sure I will see this at some point on Netflix in 2-3 years, but I don't know that I can get on board with a film that is seemingly limping along with without a finite direction. Ghostbusters 3 (from everything I have collectively read over the last three years) seems more like an intensive effort to herd cats and make a quick buck... and I just don't feel like this franchise deserves to be treated like a rental car. But what would I know and why does it matter.

Good luck with this one - I don't think it is going to be an easy sell, but I am sure people will see it.
