Fans of Stephen King's horror classic, IT, will no doubt recognize the sinister scene below, as the demonic Pennywise lures poor Georgie Denbrough to his doom with the promise of a balloon.

It's a moment that was depicted very well in the 1990 TV movie, but this updated version could well give it a run for its money if this latest spine-chilling glimpse of Bill Skarsgård’s killer clown is any indication.

Here's what the remake's director Andrés Muschietti had to say to Empire about his take on Pennywise:

“There’s supposed to be a less-is-more thing in horror. It’s like you’re not really meant to show the monster. But Pennywise is different. With Pennywise, it’s like, ‘This is the monster, I’m showing it to you… and you’re going to sh*t a brick.’”

The first trailer for IT is expected to debut within the next week or two, so be sure to keep an eye out for that. The movie is set for release this September.
