It'd be so funny to win and take the Key Fob into Room 237 (the local comic book store) which has the same wallpaper and carpet as Room 237 in The Shining!!!

MAKE THIS A REALITY ! ! !

Huge fan of The Shining! Love the Stanley Kubrick movie and the mini-series. But I love the book even more!

And it's not Room 237, it's Room 217 ;)

It's no secret Kubrick hated King and thought him a bumpkin and an idiot and completely froze him out of this film. I have that on no less an authority than Diane Johnson, who co-wrote the screenplay with Kubrick.

"I don’t want to sound like an ad–a public service ad on TV–but the fact is that if you can read you can walk into a job later on. If you don’t then you got the Army, Iraq, I don’t know, something like that. It’s not as bright. So that’s my little commercial for that."

-Stephen King

As much as I like his work... He is a DOUCHE!

I LOVED the book! I have a hard time staying interested in some novels, despite the fact that I like to read. The Shining kept me going the whole way through. I had never seen the movie until I read the book in High School though. I loved the movie too! I just wish Kubrick hadn't made some of the changes, but overall, it was a pretty faithful adaptation. He left out some of the supernatural aspects of the book.
Any fan though should really watch the made-for-tv miniseries though, since it adapts every single paragraph from the book pretty much. Plus, Steven Weber did a fantastic job.
