THE LOST BOYS Reboot Starring Noah Jupe And Jaeden Martell In The Works At Warner Bros.

After several attempts to get a new project based on classic '80s horror The Lost Boys off the ground, Warner Bros. is trying again with a big screen reboot, and two main cast members are already in place.

Warner Bros. has a reboot/reimagining of classic '80s horror flick The Lost Boys in development, and two main cast members are already in place.

THR reports that Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place Part 2} and Jaeden Martell (It) are set to star, though no details on their roles were provided. If they stick with the original characters, our money would be on The Frog Brothers - though there's always a chance central brothers Sam and Michael will be closer to the same age here.

Static Shock writer Randy McKinnon will pen the script, with Jonathan Entwistle (The End of the F*cking World, I Am Not Okay with This) on board as director.

The original was helmed by the late Joel Schumacher, and is still considered by many to be one of the best vampire movies of all time. The story focused on two brothers, Sam and Michael, who move to Santa Carla - the "murder capital of the world" - with their mother. When Michael falls in with a group of blood-suckers led by the charismatic David, Sam recruits a pair of vampire-hunters to take out the gang and save his older brother in the process.

Plot details for the new film are under wraps so we have no idea if it will retell the same story or introduce all-new characters, but WB would probably be wise to take an "if it ain't broke" approach here. The CW recently attempted to get a series (loosely) based on the movie off the ground, but let's just say nobody was too put out when it fell by the wayside!

This is on the list of reboots where I’m really not sure who’s asking for this? The 80’s nostalgia has kinda been tapped at this point. Pop culture switched to 90’s nostalgia a while ago and early 2000’s stuff is creeping in pretty quick.
