Deadline reports that early tracking for Iron Man 3 indicates that the movie is on course to open with an impressive $125+ million. This would mean that it matches - and more than likely beats - the amount taken by Iron Man 2 back in 2010 (not an easy feat for the third instalment in any franchise). According to the site, they've learned that "total awareness numbers are in the 90s while definite interest is at 67 which is higher than even The Avengers. which went on to make the highest North American opening of all time with $207M. Iron Man 3 also has incredibly strong numbers with women and Hispanics across the board." Of course, tracking isn't always reliable, but I would say that we should expect to see the movie open with even bigger numbers than this, especially if the buzz surrounding the movie is positive when it's released internationally in a couple weeks time. Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
