Near the end of Iron Man 2, after Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and War Machine (Don Cheadle) have destroyed all of the Hammer Drones, Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke) appears wearing upgraded Whiplash armor.
The improved telescoping whips featured a heavier construction capable of handling the distribution of increased electrical energy. It was also the first armor to be be equipped with Chobham, a composite armor adapted from the Hammer Industries suits and drones. In addition to protection from regular ordinance, it protected from the heat and electrical discharge of the suit's whips. - Marvel Wikia

That 1st Whiplash armor looks like something Lex Luthor would wear.

Obviously you didn't pay attention to the final fight in Iron Man 3. That whole scene was a major redemption of the film for me because I got to see Tony hopping in an out of classic armors. It was very, very exciting.

Yeah bro, I agree! The fight was very short. All of that buildup they were doing in regards to him getting his revenge on Stark had me thinking Iron Man and War Machine were screwed as soon as I saw that armor however I was wrong! lol

Great concept art.

Tony vs Rhodey was one of the best fight scenes ever in a Marvel movie. The main highlight from IM2.

To me thats what was missing from IM3. I wanted them two to have a friendly rematch.

i wonder how many of you realized that whiplash & the crimson dynamo share the same name in the comics but are not related, maybe that is why whiplash/crimson dynamo were both sort of featured in iron man 2.

trollem & his anti-marvel studios rant continues,if its not robert downey jr/iron man hate its anything marvel studios.

just wait until marvel studios dominates comic con with their announcements & footage his gonna try his best to dismiss their superiority of the comic book movie genre.

DRONE BETTER so Stark did steal Vanko's idea after all :)

Personally I love the drone battle chase sequence the best out of the Iron Man flicks
1)Drone Chase/ Killbox
2)The cave escape
3)Air Force rescue (shame that it was via remote)
4)Iron Man's first mission (he owned that tank like a boss)

"Is Iron Man 2 now considered a good movie???"

Iron Man 2 was always a good movie to me before and after Iron Man 3 which had one of my favorite scenes in a superhero movie ever.

That last fight could have been so much better, I really like this movie, but the last fight just doesn't do it for me. Rhodey and Tony kick Whiplash's arse in less than 30 seconds.....FAIL.
Although I must admit, a fight like that in real life would have probably lasted that long...so I guess it's all right....NO!!! Well, whatever, cool movie.

"I want my burd."

I hated how the final Whiplash/Dynamo fight last all but 30 seconds.

Only 3 action scenes in the entire movie and all of them were underwhelming. Please don't remind me of IM2.

the biggest flaw with any of the Iron Man films, in my opinion, is that so many of the designs are under utilized. both of the Whiplash armors should have gotten more screen, just like the way so many of the cool armors at the end of IM3 were there to justify selling tie-in merchandise and just got destroyed after 10-seconds. Oh well, it is what it is, I guess but the designs (regardless of how good each film was or wasn't) are still pretty cool.
