Amber Heard has tackled a lot of different projects over the years but it's probably Justice League and Aquaman which will put her on the map. In those, she plays Mera, Arthur Curry's love interest and the future Queen of Atlantis. Now, she's appeared in the latest issue of GQ Magazine in the Australian edition of the publication, no great surprise considering how much time she's spent there recently!
As of right now, we don't have any quotes from Heard about her role in the DC Films Universe but new comments from Justice League costume designer Michael Wilkinson have popped up online today.
"Mera, the female lead of Atlantis, was a fantastic character for me to work on. What I love about her is that she's such a badass warrior. We really wanted her costume to resemble armour. It's a protective look but with an interesting amphibious, underwater quality to it. We researched fish scales and textures which used bioluminescence, to come up with her costume design. There's some amazing engineering and architecture that goes into maintaining her very stylised and unique aesthetic."
Mera's costume has actually been redesigned for Aquaman and looks considerably more revealing, a surprise considering the fact Zack Snyder has come under fire for putting Amazons in "skimpy" outfits in Justice League. Anyway, check out these photos below and share your thoughts in the usual place.
