Could JUSTICE LEAGUE Be Set In Its Own Universe? Multiple Batmen & Supermen?

A source for Batman-on-Film is reporting that Warner Bros. is considering putting Justice League in its own universe. Those actors portraying Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman would not be the same actors in the solo films.

Batman-on-Film has a very interesting rumor, their longtime source, "industry insider," claims that Warner Bros. is considering setting the new Justice League into it's own universe. A separate continuity from Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. Meaning, Henry Cavill would not be featured in Justice League, nor would the new rebooted Batman, whoever that will be.

Question: Could a JUSTICE LEAGUE movie be set within it’s own continuity and universe without any tie-ins to future DC Comics-based solo films?

Rumor has it that Warner Bros. has at least considered the possibility, according to a longtime film industry insider “FOBOF.”

This isn't the first time Warner Bros. has considered this strategy. When George Miller (Mad Max) was putting together his Justice League film the plan was to feature a Superman and a Batman that were not played by Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) or Christian Bale (Batman Begins).

So what do you think of the possibilities of multiple live-action Batmen, Supermen and Wonder Women?

we need/want a shared dc cinematic universe with all the same actors in solo movies as well as team movies.

this sounds like a huge epic fail,i'm glad i'm more of a marvel fan than dc.

its too much hard work being a dc fan.

Surly this can't be the case, WB must have learnt by now that the success of The Avengers was partially, if not mostly, down to the success of the solo movies. Having Snyder's Superman and (possibly) Campbell's Green Lantern, would eliminate the need for major character development for these characters in a JL movie, and would allow more development for the likes of Wonder Woman, Flash and the new Batman.

Snyder hasn't confirmed that Man Of Steel will be in the Justice League universe. He said last year that it wasn't, but said that it was possible at SDCC this summer. Not having it be the launching pad for the DC Movie Universe would be a huge mistake.
And I'm definitely not buying this rumor. Warner Bros. have made some big mistakes in the past, but I don't think they're this stupid.

Should WB do this?

I know, let's ask Caesar from Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Caesar: NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

He has spoken.

It would get the ball rolling if true. And you'd have them all a lot sooner. What's so confusing there are two diff people playing the character, just like hulk, the general audience doesn't look into things like that the way comic fans do

I wouldn't doubt it really considering Warner Bros. history with bad decisions. But I think they've learned a thing or two from Marvel.

This is a terrible idea but im also calling bullshit. They wouldve denied Snyder's comments about this being the start of the DCCU. DC needs their own feige to get them on the same page for wat they want to do. Im not a DC fan but everyone as CBM lovers lose out when bad product continues to get released.

No way thats true....Makes no sense. Even for WB. MOS will be the start of something bigger that ties in more characters. Still think a JLA movie is far off....

"Why would JL be separate universe?"

One word.

Crisis.

Grow some and do it WB.

Armie Hammer for JL's Superman.

It's not like this is a new rumor. Snyder has never confirmed MOS would be part of the same universe and had previously stated they would not be so, as PaulRom stated. Not that it hasn't changed since then, but there has been talk out there about not combining the universes. It wouldn't make sense at this juncture now that they have announced plans for a JLA movie to not combine them, but we are talking WB. :-P

typical DC Warner cop out sorry how to screw up a franchise ask DC, ok lets get this right to save money and explain the lack of solo movies the JLA are going to be in another universe? which one DC has a multiverse already readers never know where they are.
with this multiverse JLA movie the actors portraying said icons might not be those doing solo movies later.
but realy if DC thinks their fans will accept this shows they are not interested in producing good content just want to make money and try to keep up with Marvel.

What ever they do, i just hope and pray that the final product, the Justice League movie turns out great... it needs to be!! it's the frickin Justice League!!! and also, the public's mindset of comic book movies now is really positive, i don't want this movie to change that.

This idea is so profoundly terrible--from both a marketing perspective and an artistic one--that I can almost believe WB is going to run with it.

I wouldn't be too mad with this. Setting up a shared universe is a huge investment. If they mess up, it could hurt the entire future of comic book film adaptations in the industry. Rather them play it safe. Justice League is impossible in my mind right now. I rather anticipate things that are real and happening, like Man Of Steel, which looks unbelievably impressive.

Ridiculos if you are not going to have continuity then that tells me that there is no plan to develop the characters and instead they are doing this just for money. They dont need to be lazy they should develop the characters and tie them in properly.

I can see it possibly working if they actually make it part of the plot to acknowledge the separate universes, just having the cast tell reporters at junkets that it is a separate universe would be shit.

Separate universes have been a major part of DC continuity for a long time, so if done right I can see the potential for success. We all know that it should be easy for WB/DC to just follow the model of Marvel Studios, but if they put effort into coming up with their own model I will back it.

What I wouldn't understand would be rebooting the Batman franchise AND not having it be JL related. If it is going to be separate, then why reboot. Just build off of what Nolan has done. Make JGL Batman for a few movies if you are going with separate universes.

i dont think WB wants to follow marvels foot steps though...by having solo films then end credit scenes leading into the next movie etc...they wanna do something different and i think they should...dont need to follow the same with what marvel did to lead to the avengers...

as for diff. ppl playing certain characters...idc i am good with that..just keep cavill..didnt he sign like a 5 year dear for superman??...so we may get 1 actor to play batman in a solo but another in JL? who cares..i dont hhaha i am good with that..as long as the stories some how connect i am good..not like marvel but they need to connect some how some way

.......WB isn't even trying anymore, are they?...... "sigh". I don't think they'd do this. It would be absurd on so many levels. On a side-note, am i the only one who thinks that we might get a Squadron Supreme (a blatant-acknowledgedby their creator-ripoff of Justice League) movie before a JL movie? I know that's extreme, but at this pace, idk what DC is doing.....

Of course I know that Nolan said no, but Warner Bros has no idea what there doing. This movie shouldn't even be made at all.
